Sitaare Zameen Par song Good For Nothing: Aamir Khan’s Coach Gulshan brings fun, fire and feels to the basketball court

Sitaare Zameen Par has finally arrived with its debut single, Good For Nothing, after the film's trailer created quite a stir. An official spiritual successor to 2007's smash hit Taare Zameen Par, the film stars Aamir Khan as Coach Gulshan, who makes a triumphant comeback to the starring role.

Coach Gulshan and his team shine in spirited track

In the song, we see Aamir's character coaching a youth basketball team, setting the tone for the film's enthusiastic and spirited mood. Good For Nothing captures the spirit of teamwork and friendship among Coach Gulshan's players as they go through enjoyable, disciplined, and occasionally humorous training sessions with its infectious melody and vibrant images.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the music to the song, which has vocals by Shankar Mahadevan and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, who also contributes singing. Neil Mukherjee (guitar) and Sheldon D'Silva (bass) arranged the song. Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar are 10 rookie actors brought to you by Aamir Khan Productions. This track showcases their talents as a youthful squad.

Trailer evoked laughter and emotion

Many were impressed by the way the trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par (which was out earlier) managed to evoke both laughter and tears. It suggested a plot in which a courageous coach helps a number of misfit kids discover their strength and purpose in athletics. Compared to its more sentimental predecessor, the new song gives the impression that the film is taking a comedic and motivational approach.

R. S. Prasanna, who directed 2017's Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, is behind the camera for Sitaare Zameen Par, which stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh (Boys, Masti, Samba). Divy Nidhi Sharma is the screenwriter.

Ravi Bhagchandka is also linked to the production, joining Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit as producers. June 20, 2025, is when Sitaare Zameen Par is set to hit theatres.
