Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film Maaveeran has moved to the last leg of shoot. The portions for the final schedule are currently being shot in Pondicherry. A huge set resembling a huge boat has been erected in the coastal town. Sivakarthikeyan and Mysskin, who plays the prime antagonist in the film, are said to be part of the final schedule. The team is likely to wrap up the portions by next week. Maaveeran is directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Madonne Ashwin and the film has Aditi Shankar playing the leading lady.

The team had recently wrapped a 20-day-long schedule in Ennore and reports are that the majority of the portions were shot at night. The star cast includes Goundamani, Yogi Babu, Sunil, Saritha to name a few. In the meantime, it is said that the film is likely to be an Eid release. Since Sivakarthikeyan's last venture Prince tanked at the box office, a lot is riding on this film for the actor. Maaveeran is a bilingual and the film will be released in Telugu as Mahaveerudu.

It is to be noted that the title announcement of the film was made by Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu. The video gave a glimpse of Sivakarthikeyan's character who is injured after being attacked by a bunch of goons. But suddenly, he rises up thanks to strings that are raised by a shadow. It looks like these are some of the imaginations of Sivakarthikeyan's character, who come to his rescue in time of need.

It is said that Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist in the film and whatever he draws at work comes true in his real life. Aditi Shankar is said to be playing a journalist and both lead characters are part of a media house. The film is said to have some heavy-duty action. Madonne Ashwin has retained Bharath Shankar (who had earlier worked in Mandela) as the music composer for Maaveran as well.
