Sivakarthikeyan on SK23 - AR Murugadoss' film will be a mass entertainer

Sivakarthikeyan has been one of the most successful actors in Kollywood who has not failed to deliver promising performances in the last decade. The Kollywood star who is now gearing up for the Pongal release of his upcoming sci-fi movie Ayalaan, has been giving several interviews, discussing about the movie, as well as giving updates on his future endeavours. In one such interview, the actor spoke about his most-anticipated collaboration with acclaimed director A R Murugadoss, which is tentatively titled SK 23. 

During one of recent interviews, Sivakarthikeyan promised that SK 23 is going to be a 'mass entertainer' and that he is very much looking forward to collaborating with the popular filmmaker. “SK 23 is an exciting film for me. Not just myself, but for any actor, it is a dream to work with big directors. I have always dreamt of working with directors like S Shankar and A R Murugadoss. And whenever I have met Murugadoss sir at events, I tell him that I wish to work with him someday and that he can call me anytime for a good project. That was when one time sir himself called me and hinted that he has a script in the works, but he promised to narrate the script after its completion. Later during one casual meet up, he narrated the entire story by himself and that itself was a special moment for me. SK 23 is definitely a film I am very much excited about. The film will be a proper mass-entertainer and the most important thing is that there is a lot of scope for performance in the film, which I am very much looking forward to”, the actor elaborated.

The Doctor-fame star also mentioned that the film will commence shooting from January 2024.

SK 23 marks the sophomore collaboration between Sivakarthikeyana and A R Murugadoss, after Sivakarthikeyan’s 2014 film Maan Karate, the story of which was written by the director. This is the first time the A R Murugadoss will be directing a Sivakarthikeyan starrer. Mrunal Thakur is said to be playing the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan in SK 23 with the film's music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Interestingly, Mohanlal and Vidyut Jammwal are also reported to be part of the film.

About Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming sci-fi movie Ayalaan

Ayalaan is making a grand theatrical release on January 12, coinciding with Pogal 2024. The film is based on an extraterrestrial being who lands in Chennai. Chithha actor Siddharth has lent his voice to the alien’s character in the movie. Bankrolled by KJR Studios and 24 AM Studios, Ayalaan boasts a star-studded cast, including Rakul Preet Singh, Isha Koppikar, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu and Karunakaran. The camera is cranked by Nirav Shah, while the editing has been handled by Gopi Prasanna.
