The Mandela team is surely on a high of success after bagging two awards at the recently announced 68th National Film Awards. The team bagged the award for the Best Debutant Director and Best Dialogues, both of which went to Madonne Ashwin. The film, which is titled after the late South African President Nelson Mandela, has Yogi Babu playing the lead, whose character is called Mandela. The plot is set in the backdrop of a village panchayat election where two political parties leave no stone unturned to turn the verdict in their favour.
Madonne Ashwin has now teamed up for his next with Sivakarthikeyan, which is titled Maveeran. The title announcement video was recently released by Mahesh Babu. The shoot for the film is expected to begin soon. Sivakarthikeyan is said to be playing a superhero in the film. We hear that Madonne Ashwin was talking to Sivakarthikeyan about the project when the National Awards were being announced. And soon after Sivakarthikeyan heard the news, he invited the team for dinner.
The actor also praised the film and called it one of his favourites in the recent times. He shared a picture with Madonne Ashwin on his social media page, and captioned it, "My most favourite film in recent times #Mandela , received it’s biggest recognition 👍Congratulations to @madonneashwin on the double national award.. Privileged to work with you brother ❤️😊 இன்னும் நிறைய உயரங்கள் காத்திருக்கிறது சகோ🤗 (sic)."
Sivakarthikeyan also congratulated Thaman for his award. Sharing a picture with the Varisu composer, he wrote, "Congrats dear @MusicThaman bro on the national award.. Give us many more amazing albums like #AlaVaikunthapurramuloo ❤️👍#68thNationalFilmAwards (sic)."
Sivakarthikeyan is now gearing up for the release of his next with director Anudeep KV. The film is expected to hit screens for Diwali. Maria Ryaboshapk, a model-turned-actress plays the leading lady in it.
