Sivakarthikeyan’s banner to present Darshan’s horror comedy House Mates; ‘We watched it. We loved every bit of it’

Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in Amaran, has been backing films under his home banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions for a while now. Some of the films include the critically acclaimed Kanaa and Kottukkaali. On Wednesday, the banner announced that it will be releasing House Mates, an upcoming horror fantasy film starring Darshan in the lead role. Interestingly, Darshan starred in Kanaa, the maiden production venture of the banner.

Sivakarthikeyan to present Darshan’s House Mates

We had earlier reported that upcoming actor Darshan's film House Mates will be a horror comedy with fantasy elements. The film's first look was unveiled by the makers earlier. Alongside him, Kaali Venkat acts in a crucial role. Arsha Chandini Baiju, Vinodini, Dheena, Abdool Lee, and Master Henrik are joining them in significant roles.

Sivakarthikeyan Productions will be releasing the film. Making the announcement, they said, “We watched it. We loved every bit of it. The unique concept, the entertainment and this new team’s sincere effort truly stood out, and we knew we had to present it.” A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

House Mates is about an apartment complex and the daily emotions of a middle-class family. T. Raja Vel has written and directed this film. Notably, he has worked as co-director with filmmaker Ajay Gnanamuthu and was part of the writing team of Demonte Colony 2. 

Where to watch Sivakarthikeyan Productions' films on OTT?

Most of Sivakarthikeyan-backed films are available on OTTplay Premium. Sivakarthikeyan debuted as a producer with the 2018 Tamil film Kanaa, a sports drama helmed by Arunraja Kamaraj, and starring Aishwarya Rajesh. The film is available for streaming on SonyLIV, along with Vaazhl, which is a drama starring TJ Bhanu, Pradeep and others.

Last year, the banner made two films, Kurangu Pedal and Kottukkaali, both of which were critically acclaimed at the festival circuit and streaming on Aha Tamil.
