Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film with director Cibi Chakaravarthi, Don has been titled College Don in Telugu. Lyca Productions which is banrolling the film along with SK Productions made the announcement on its social media page, "#DON ๐Ÿ˜Ž is releasing simultaneously in Telugu as #CollegeDON ๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ˜Ž on May 1๏ธโƒฃ3๏ธโƒฃ#CollegeDONfromMay13 #DONfromMay13 #DONforAllAges @Siva_Kartikeyan @SKProdOffl @KalaiArasu_ @anirudhofficial @Dir_Cibi @priyankaamohan@SonyMusicSouth @DoneChannel1 (sic)."

Priyanka Mohan plays the leading lady in the film, while SJ Suryah plays the antagonist. Samuthirakani and Soori will be seen in a crucial role in the comedy flick. The rest of the supporting cast includes Bala Saravanan, Manobala, Sivaangi Krishnakumar, Kaali Venkat, Munishkanth, Raju Jeyamohan and Radha Ravi. Gautham Menon has made a cameo appearance in it. The film, which has been extensively shot across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Pollachi and Udumalpettai, has been cleared with a U certificate from the Censor Board. Anirudh has composed the music for the film. While the cinematography is by KM Bhaskaran, editing is Nagooran Ramachandran.

The trailer was released on May 6 at a grand audio launch held in Chennai. The trailer introduces the actor as a college student, who is on a journey to figure out the purpose of his life. Speaking at the event, Sivakarthikeyan had said, " Working on Don was like revisiting my childhood, as my dreams and ambitions kept changing from time to time."

Speaking about SJ Suryah, the antagonist in the film, the actor had said, โ€œI started doing mimicry in the voice of SJ Suryah sir. I was quite popular in college for this very reason. I had told him about this during the shooting. The film will make audiences reflect on their life as they walk out of the theatres. As far as this film is concerned, every person who worked in it is a hero."
