Sivakarthikeyan's Don witnesses blockbuster opening

Sivakarthikeyan's latest outing, Don, which released today, has witnessed a blockbuster opening. Written and directed by Cibi Chakaravarthi, and produced by Lyca Productions in association with Sivakarthikeyan Productions, the movie has opened to positive reviews from both film critics and general audiences.

Producer Subaskaran, chairman, Lyca Productions, and actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan are extremely elated over the heart-warming response to the movie. Both the producers wanted Don to be a summer release as they felt that it’s the right time to draw family crowd to the theaters. Significantly, the plans have worked out in favour of the production houses as the footfall of family audiences was seen in the early morning shows itself.

The film marks Cibi's directorial debut. Taking to his social media page, Sivakarthikeyan wished Cibi and wrote, "Excited and extremely happy to present you #DON ❤️ @Dir_Cibi ‘s maiden directorial venture, hope you all wil lik this film.. DON is all yours now ❤️❤️👍 #DONfromToday (sic)." A number of celebrities also took to their respective social media pages to wish the team.

Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and SJ Suryah, the star cast includes Samuthirakani, Soori, Bala Saravanan, RJ Vijay, Sivaangi, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Radha Ravi, Singampuli, George, Aadhira, and others. Sivakarthikeyan plays a college student in the film and trailer and songs were released at an audio launch held in Chennai. The comedy campus caper has been extensively shot across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Pollachi and Udumalpettai.

The technical crew comprises Anirudh (music), KM Bhaskaran (DOP), Nagooran Ramachandran (editor), Udhayakumar K (art), Vicky (stunts), Suren G- S Alagiakoothan (sound designing-sound mixing), Vignesh Shivn-Rokesh (lyrics), Brinda-Shobi Paul Raj-Poppy-Sandy (choreography), Anu-Harikesh-Nithya-Jefferson (costume designs), Permul Selvam (costumer), P Ganapathy (makeup) Stills Prithivirajan N (stills) and M Manjunathan (production manager) to name a few. The film also released in Telugu and the title of the Telugu version was College Don.
