The Gorge adds Sigourney Weaver to its cast

Hollywood veteran Sigourney Weaver has been added to the cast of the Apple TV+ Original film The Gorge. The Alien and Avatar actress will be joined by A-listers such as Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy of Queen’s Gambit fame. The film will be directed by Scott Derrickson, best known for helming the 2016 hit Doctor Strange. The film is expected to be a high-octane genre-bending love story and we can’t wait for this one to drop.

A new Stranger Things prequel play set for premiere

A stage play titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow has been announced. It is an official prequel to the hit Netflix series and will focus on the origins of a young Henry Creel before he becomes the villainous Vecna. The play will also feature younger versions of Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers. It is part of several Stranger Things-related projects in the pipeline after the fifth and final season premieres on Netflix.

Robert De Niro to make his TV series debut

Hollywood legend Robert De Niro is set to star in his first ever TV series for Lesli Linka Glatter’s directorial Zero Day. Narcos showrunner Eric Newman will serve as co-creator and executive producer along with Noah Oppenheim. The Netflix series will be a political thriller with De Niro playing the role of a former American President. It’s time for some executive decisions and few in Hollywood have De Niro’s heft to pull this off.

Frasier sequel series to feature Bebe Neuwirth’s Lilith

Paramount+ recently announced that the iconic comedy sitcom Fraiser is being revived for a sequel series. It has now been confirmed that Bebe Neuwirth will reprise her role as Lilith and will join a returning Kelsey Grammer as the titular protagonist. It remains to be seen if other iconic characters from Fraiser and Cheers will also make a comeback. We’re already lying down on a couch waiting for our thoughts to be analysed by American TV’s foremost shrink.

Netflix animated series Agent Elvis casts Priscilla Presley as herself

Priscilla Presley, the ex-wife of the ‘King of Rock ’n’ Roll’, the late Elvis Presley, is set to voice herself in the upcoming adult animated comedy series Agent Elvis. Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey will lend his voice for the lead, while Kaitlin Olson, Johnny Knoxville, Niecy Nash, Tom Kenny, and Don Cheadle will essay supporting roles. The series is a fictionalised and exaggerated story about Elvis who becomes a covert spy for the US government. The series will premiere on the platform on 17th March with stars such as Ed Helms, Christina Hendricks, Chris Elliot, Simon Pegg and Tara Strong set to make guest appearances.

Ribhu Dasgupta’s courtroom drama adds Amitabh Bachchan as lead

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is set to play the lead in Ribhu Dasgupta’s upcoming courtroom drama Section 84. The film will be the duo's third collaboration after acclaimed films such as Yudh and Te3n. The film will be produced by Reliance Entertainment. The veteran actor announced the news on social media along with a teaser video. Further details about the cast and plot are being kept under wraps. The last time when Big B graced the courtroom in a film, it was the National Award-winning film Pink and we have high expectations from this upcoming turn.
