Aamir Khan may replace Farhan Akhtar in Campeones remake

It was reported earlier that Aamir Khan’s production company is working on a remake of the Spanish film Campeones. Salman Khan was initially offered the role of the lead star but the actor turned it down according to reports. Now, according to new reports, Aamir Khan has himself decided to play the lead role in the remake despite the role also being offered to Farhan Akhtar. The film will be helmed by R.S. Prasanna, who is best known for directing the Tamil comedy Kalyana Samayal Saadham starring Prasanna and Lekha Washington. The Campeones remake is expected to begin filming by the end of 2023 or early 2024 and is reportedly eying a December 2024 release.

Sai Pallavi rumoured to play Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayan’

Premam star Sai Pallavi has been offered the role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of Ramayan according to new reports. The actress is expected to screen test for the role in the coming months, and she could star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the upcoming film. KGF star Yash has reportedly already screen-tested for the role of Raavan. The untitled film is expected to commence production in 2024.

Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy secures spot at 12th IFFSA Toronto

There has been plenty of hype surrounding Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy, starring Sunny Leone, after the film received a seven-minute standing ovation at Cannes earlier this year. It has now been revealed that the film has earned a spot in the prestigious 12th edition of the BMO International Film Festival of South Asia Toronto, also known as IFFSA Toronto. Kennedy stars Rahul Bhatt as the titular character and is touted as a neo-noir thriller.

‘The Buckingham Murders’ starring Kareena Kapoor Khan to be screened at the London Film Festival

Hansal Mehta’s Scam 2003 - The Telgi Story premiered on SonyLIV to positive reviews this week, and the filmmaker is already set to release his next major project. The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, is Mehta’s upcoming crime thriller and it is written by Aseem Arora, Raghav Raj Kakker, and Kashyap Kapoor. The film is set in High Wycombe, England, and explores themes of trauma, closure, and immigration. While an official release date is yet to be announced, it has been revealed that The Buckingham Murders will be screened at the BFI London Film Festival in October this year.

'The Walking Dead' spin-offs and 'Interview With a Vampire' reach agreement to resume filming amid strikes

Hollywood has come to a standstill amidst the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes with several productions halted indefinitely and major releases, such as Dune: Part II, postponed by several months. However, it appears AMC networks have managed to agree on an interim deal with SAG-AFTRA to resume filming for The Walking Dead spin-offs and Interview With a Vampire. There is no deal in place with the WGA and the writer’s strike, but since the scripts are complete for these AMC shows, the actors have been granted permission to record additional dialogue

'Oppenheimer' finally takes top spot at the global box office

The Barbenheimer box office run is going strong with both Barbie and Oppenheimer entering the sixth week of their theatrical release. Barbie dominated the box offices across the globe for the first five weeks breaking numerous records and grossing over $1.3 billion. However, Oppenheimer has finally dethroned Barbie at the global box office, six weeks after both films premiered. The R-rated Christopher Nolan film is closing in on $800 million worldwide and is set to become the second highest-grossing R-rated film of all time by the end of the week, overtaking both Deadpool films and behind Todd Philips’ 2019 film Joker.
