Akshay Kumar’s ‘Capsule Gill’ renamed to ‘Mission Raniganj’

After struggling at the box office in recent years, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar found immense success with his latest release OMG 2. The actor is now set to return to the silver screen with Tinu Suresh Desai's next film in which he stars alongside Parineeti Chopra. The thriller was initially titled Capsule Gill, but after undergoing several revisions, the filmmakers have finalised on Mission Raniganj. The first teaser for the film is expected to be released on Akshay Kumar’s birthday, September 9 and Mission Raniganj will hit theatres across India on October 6.

TV actor Lakshya to headline Dharma Productions’ next big-budget film

It was reported earlier this year that popular TV actor Lakshya, who is best known for his lead role in the series Porus, will star in Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s action thriller Kill, produced by Karan Johar. It was also revealed that Kill will premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. According to new reports Lakshya may have already signed his next project and it will be a big-budget film by Johar’s Dharma Productions. Further details regarding the project have been kept under wraps.

Kaitlyn Dever stars in new alien home invasion film  'No One Will Save You'

American actress Kaitlyn Dever, who is best known for her riveting performances in acclaimed TV shows such as Justified and Unbelievable, has been cast in a new sci-fi thriller. Titled No One Will Save You, the film features an alien home invasion story directed by Brian Duffield. No One Will Save You will premiere on Hulu on September 22 and is expected to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar in India.

Natalie Portman to star alongside Julianne Moore in the Netflix romantic drama ‘May December’

Academy Award-winners Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore are set to star in the upcoming Netflix romantic drama May December. The film is helmed by Todd Haynes and also features Riverdale actor Charles Melton in a prominent role. The film follows a couple with a large age gap whose marriage is tested by an actress researching their 20-year relationship for a film about their life – a marriage that was a result of a secret romance that was made public by the tabloids 20 years ago. Netflix is yet to announce a release date for May December.

Chris Evans and Emily Blunt play lead roles in new dark comedy 'Pain Hustlers'

Captain America star Chris Evans is set to star alongside Oppenheimer actress Emily Blunt for a new dark comedy. Titled Pain Hustlers, the pair play a couple of charismatic, morally corrupt, and profit-seeking individuals who hope to capitalise on the opioid crisis. The film is helmed by Harry Potter director David Yates, and it is an adaptation of the eponymous book by Evan Hughes. Pain Hustlers will receive a limited theatrical release on October 20, before releasing on Netflix on October 27.

Emma Stone working on a secret film with  'Poor Things' director Yorgos Lanthimos

The new Emma Stone film, Poor Things, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos has received rave reviews from critics after premiering at the Venice International Film Festival last week. The sci-fi black comedy currently holds a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. New reports have emerged that Stone may have secretly filmed for a new film by Yorgos Lanthimo, and it will be their fifth collaboration after Poor Things and is reportedly shot in Greece. Further details regarding this top-secret project are understandably scarce, but it is said to be different and less complex than Poor Things.

'Candy Cane Lane'  starring Eddie Murphy to release this Christmas on Prime Video

Hollywood veteran comedian and actor Eddie Murphy’s career may have passed its prime. But it surely got a shot in the arm with the hit 2019 film Dolemite Is My Name. Now, Murphy is all set to star in a new holiday feature for Prime Video. Titled Candy Cane Lane, the film follows Murphy’s character Chris who seeks to finally win the annual Christmas home decoration contest in his neighbourhood. Things take a turn after he makes a deal with a mysterious woman named Pepper to improve his chances of success, but she casts a spell that unleashes chaos on the town instead. This loud comedy is directed by Reginald Hudlin, and it also stars  Tracee Ellis Ross, Robin Thede, Nick Offerman, Chris Redd, and Jillian Bell in prominent roles.  Candy Cane Lane will premiere on Prime Video on December 1, 2023.
