Disney+ releases first trailer for the upcoming ‘Percy Jackson’ series
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the highly anticipated Disney+ series based on Rick Riordan's best-selling young adult novels, has finally released its trailer. The new clip features The Adam Project star Walker Scobell as the titular demigod, who is seen travelling to Camp Half-Blood. Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries essay the roles of Percy’s friends Grover and Annabeth, while Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jason Mantzoukas, Jay Duplass, Adam Copeland, Timothy Omundson, and Megan Mullally among others play other prominent roles. Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres on December 20, 2023, on Disney and on Disney+ Hotstar in India.

AMC+ renews Dark Winds for a third season

Dark Winds, the thriller series headlined by Zahn McClarnon, has been renewed by AMC+ for a third season. The critically-acclaimed series revolves around two police officers investigating mysterious deaths in New Mexico and offers a nuanced exploration into the indigenous population in the US. The series is based on Tony Hillerman's novels and the new season is expected to release in 2025. The first two seasons of Dark Waters are available to stream on Prime Video in India.

Marc Webb to helm a film about the Bermuda Triangle

The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb has been roped into helm Skydance’s upcoming film based on the Bermuda Triangle. Titled Bermuda, several filmmakers were attached to the project including Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson and Spider-Man and Doctor Strange sequel director Sam Raimi. While no actors or writers have been attached to the project, the film will reportedly focus on the mysterious disappearances of ships and planes in the Caribbean region.

SS Rajamouli announces biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian Cinema

RRR and Bahubali director SS Rajamouli has announced that a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, who is widely acknowledged as the father of Indian Cinema, is in development. Titled Made in India, the film will be produced by Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya and will be directed by Jawaani Jaaneman filmmaker Nitin Kakkar. Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, who is popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke, is credited for making the first full-length feature film in India, titled Raja Harishchandra, in the year 1913.

Atlee working on a new project with Vijay and Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has shattered box office records since it premiered in theatres earlier this month. However, fans were left disappointed after Tamil superstar Vijay, who has worked with Atlee on multiple blockbusters, did not make an appearance in Jawan. According to new reports, it appears Atlee is working on a new project with both superstars. In a recent interview with a media outlet, Atlee confirmed that he is working on a script for a film that will feature both Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay. Now, this is sure to be an epic blockbuster!

Jeethu Joseph’s ‘Nunakuzhi’ to be headlined by Basil Joseph

Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph is set to helm a new film titled Nunakuzhi. The film is expected to be a comedy entertainer with Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph to play the lead role. The film is written by Kooman and 12th Man writer KR Krishna Kumar, with Grace Antony, Siddique, and Manoj K Jayan among others playing supporting roles. Further details about the project have been kept under wraps.
