Bryan Cranston to retire from acting

Bryan Cranston, the four-time Emmy Award-winning star of Breaking Bad, has announced his retirement from acting. In an interview with British GQ, the veteran actor explained that he will retire in 2026 so that he can spend more time with his family. The acclaimed actor was last seen in the Showtime drama series Your Honor, and he will next appear in Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated film Asteroid City, which releases on June 23rd in India.

'Fright Krewe' horror series in development at Dreamworks with Eli Roth to helm

Hollywood actor and filmmaker, Eli Roth is set to helm a horror animated series for Dreamworks. Titled, Fright Krewe, the series will be co-created by James Frey, and is aimed at the young-adult demographic. Roth being involved in the project is intriguing considering he has carved a reputation for creating cult horror classics featuring plenty of gore and violence such as Hostel, Cabin Fever, and The Green Inferno. Fright Krewe is definitely a change of pace for Roth and it revolves around a group of teens who embark on an adventure filled with the mysteries of the occult.

Animated reboot of 'Bewitched' in development

The iconic fantasy sitcom Bewitched, which shot to fame in the 60s is set to be rebooted. The project will be developed by Sony Pictures Television and will be an animated reiteration. The original series revolved around a witch named Samantha and her human husband Darrin, who is often the victim of various spells and jinxes cast by Samantha’s disapproving kin. As per reports, the series will take inspiration from Harry Potter and Hannah Montana.

Zoe Saldaña joins Nicole Kidman in Taylor Sheridan's spy thriller ‘Special Ops: Lioness’

Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldaña is set to star alongside Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman in the upcoming spy thriller series Special Ops: Lioness. The film is helmed by Taylor Sheridan, the acclaimed filmmaker who is best known for Wind River and the Yellowstone franchise. The series is set to premiere on July 23rd and revolves around a real-life US military operation called Special Ops: Lioness.

Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ announces release date

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated film OMG 2, the sequel to the 2012 comedy OMG: Oh My God! has announced its release date. Kumar announced on social media that the film will release on the 11th of August this year. The film is said to be a satire on the Indian education system and also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, Arun Govil, and Aamir Naik in prominent roles.

Fahadh Faasil to star in upcoming thriller ‘Dhoomam’

Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil is set to star in the highly anticipated suspense thriller, Dhoomam. Hombale Films, the production house credited with blockbuster hits such as the K.G.F franchise and Kantara, has bankrolled the project. The film is written and directed by Pawan Kumar, who is best known for U-Turn and Lucia and stars Faasil along with Aparna Balamurali, Achyut Kumar, and Roshan Mathew essaying prominent roles. The trailer for the Malayalam film was recently released and promises a gripping thriller surrounding Faasil’s character. It will be released on June 23rd this year.
