Toy Story 5, Frozen 3 and Zootopia 2 announced by Disney

The beloved Disney animated film franchises are returning to the excitement of fans across the globe. Disney CEO Bob Iger announced new sequels for Toy Story and Frozen during the company’s earnings call for the year-end 2022 quarter. The cherished Pixar staple Toy Story is returning with a fourth film, in addition to a third Frozen film – a franchise so popular that it spawned a Disney on Ice show, a Broadway musical, several short films, TV specials, and books. Disney also announced a sequel to the 2016 buddy cop action comedy, Zootopia.

Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis have joined the cast of Amazon’s Kay Scarpetta tv series

Patricia Cornwell’s popular book series The Scarpetta Series is shifting to the screen with a blockbuster TV series. Oscar winner Nicole Kidman has onboarded the project in the title role of Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist inspired by the real-life medical examiner Marcella Farinelli Fierro who uses forensic technology to solve crimes. Oscar nominee Jamie Lee Curtis has been cast as the famous forensic pathologist’s sister Dorothy. Elizabeth Sarnoff will serve as the showrunner and will be produced by Blumhouse Television. The show has landed a two-season straight-to-series order at Prime Video.

There are no old man jokes in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Harrison Ford reveals the reason

Harrison Ford proves age is no bar as he takes up the fedora and the whip once again for the fifth film of the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. In a recent interview, Ford revealed the original film script had a lot of old jokes but they were all taken out. He further added that the reason was to preserve the original character. For the flashback scenes in the movie, Ford is de-aged to appear as his younger self and he is impressed by how well the de-ageing technology is employed in the film.

Michael Bay is set to direct a bounty hunter TV Series

Amazon is producing a new bounty hunter drama with A+E Studios. Joe Barton and Michael Bay will be overseeing this untitled project centring on an American bounty hunter working on the border between the United States of America and Mexico. The plot revolves around how the bounty hunter gets into trouble with a Mexican cartel while chasing down a criminal.

House, M.D star Hugh Laurie joins the cast of Tehran

The hit Israeli espionage thriller Tehran has been renewed for the third season by Apple TV+, with Hugh Laurie from House, M.D, joining the cast. Laurie will essay the role of Eric Peterson, a South African nuclear inspector. The series follows a Mossad agent who is tasked with infiltrating a nuclear facility in the capital city of Iran. Niv Sultan, Shaun Toub, and Shila Ommi will reprise their roles in the new season with Sasson Gabai, Bahar Pars, and Phoenix Raei joining as new characters. 101 Dalmatians star Glenn Close played a Mossad agent in the second season which helped the series attain mainstream recognition.

Zachary Levi’s next project is a tragic true story Not Without Hope

Hollywood star Zachary Levi will next be seen as the titular hero in the Shazam! sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Furthermore, he has landed his next project as the lead in a survival thriller film titled Not Without Hope. Based on Nick Schuyler and Jere Longman’s eponymous New York Times best-selling novel of the same name, the film tells the non-fictional story of a 2009 boating accident that took the lives of NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, as well as Schuyler’s best friend Will Bleakley. Levi will play the role of Schuyler who survived the accident.

The animated film Sneaks will star Martin Lawrence, Anthony Mackie & Chloe Bailey

The upcoming animated feature film Sneaks has announced a star-studded cast of MCU star Anthony Mackie, Bad Boys star Martin Lawrence, and Grammy-nominated singer Chloe Bailey. Laurence Fishburne and Macy Gray are already part of the project as the voice cast. The film is about a misguided anthropomorphic designer sneaker named Ty, whose simple life in the comfort of his shoebox is about to change.

Helena Bonham Carter teaming with The Crown director for The Offing

Veteran British actress Helena Bonham Carter is set to reunite with The Crown director Jessica Hobbs for her next feature titled The Offing. She portrayed the role of Princess Margaret in Netflix’s beloved show The Crown and her next project is based on the 2019 novel by Benjamin Myers which follows the story of an unlikely friendship in a post-World War II northern England. Bonham Carter will play a hard-drinking, foul-mouthed, bohemian recluse in the film.
