Harrison Ford awarded honorary Palme d'Or

The Cannes Film Festival awarded legendary Hollywood actor Harrison Ford with the Palme d'Or for lifetime achievement. The actor attended the film festival for the premiere of his latest film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The James Mangold directorial is set to release theatrically on June 30th and features an ensemble cast of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, and Boyd Holbrook in pivotal roles with Ford essaying the lead as the iconic adventurer Indiana Jones.

'Pink Panther' reboot casts Eddie Murphy

Hollywood veteran Eddie Murphy is close to signing a deal to play the lead in the Pink Panther reboot. Murphy will reportedly essay the role of the iconic Inspector Jacques Clouseau. The role of the humbling French detective was previously played by Steve Martin in the 2006 film The Pink Panther and its 2009 sequel. Further details regarding the film have been kept under wraps.

Apple TV+ announces several Snoopy projects

Apple TV+ has announced several new projects surrounding the Peanuts franchise. The streaming platform has announced several TV shows and specials with Snoopy at the forefront. The second season of The Snoopy Show will premiere on Apple TV+ on June 9th. The next project will be a short titled Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marsie.

Nicolas Cage to star in new beach-based thriller

Veteran Hollywood star, Nicholas Cage is set to star in filmmaker Lorsan Finnegan’s next film titled The Surfer. Cage will essay the role of an Australian man who returns home and gets involved in a feud with a gang of surfers. The film is set to be a psychological thriller and will commence production in September this year.

‘Moon Knight’ star May Calamawy cast in Gladitor sequel

The Gladiator sequel has nearly confirmed its cast with filming reportedly about to commence soon. Moon Knight star May Calamawy has been added to the cast along with White Lotus star Fred Hechinger replacing Barry Keoghan as Emperor Geta. The news comes after Keoghan had to reportedly drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. Ridley Scott’s sequel already boasts a star-studded ensemble featuring Paul Mescal as the lead with Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Connie Nielsen in pivotal roles.

Disney to purge over 50 titles from Hulu and Disney+

Disney recently announced that the company would be merging its streaming platforms Disney+ and Hulu later this year. It has now been announced that more than 50 titles from both platforms will be removed as part of cost-cutting measures. These include the recently cancelled TV series Willow, The Mysterious Benedict Society, and Turner and Hooch, among others. Fans on social media have expressed their outrage and demanded that the company release physical copies of these titles.
