Malayalam actress Bhavana has been cast as an architect in the horror thriller titled The Door. Helmed by the actress’s brother Jaiiddev, the film is being made in Tamil and will also be dubbed in Malayalam and Hindi. Further details surrounding the project have been kept under wraps.

Raima Sen cast alongside Nana Patekar Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s next film

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri‘s upcoming film The Vaccine Wars has announced its cast. Actress Raima Sen has been cast alongside Kannada actress Sapthami Gowda and veteran Nana Patekar. While plot details have been kept under wraps, the film is said to revolve around Indians who contributed in developing COVID-19 vaccines during the pandemic. The film was originally announced for an August 11 release this year but has now been shifted to Dussehra 2023. It has also been revealed that the film will be released in 11 regional languages.

Apple renews ‘Silo’ for another season

The dystopian series Silo, starring Rebecca Ferguson and based on Hugh Howey’s novels, has garnered critical-acclaim after it premiered last month. Apple TV+ has announced that the series will return for a second season with Emmy Award-winner Graham Yost at the helm. The series finale will be released on the platform on June 30th, and the plot revolves around an underground facility called the Silo which houses thousands of people as a measure to supposedly protect them from the uninhabitable outside world.

Minx season two release date announced

After HBO Max, which is now rebranded as Max, canceled the comedy series Minx after season one, Starz decided to gamble on the project and acquire its rights. The streaming platform has announced that the series about a woman starting an erotic magazine for female audiences will return with a new season on July 21 this year. Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson essay the lead roles, and it is available to stream on Lionsgate Play in India.

Netflix renews 'XO, Kitty' for a second season

XO, Kitty, the spin-off series to the To All the Boys films on Netflix, has been renewed for a second season. The series revolves around Anna Cathcart’s character Kitty, and chronicles her life at a school in Seoul, South Korea. Netflix is yet to announce a release date for the second season.

‘Knuckles’ announces star-studded voice cast

The highly anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off, titled Knuckles, has announced a stellar voice cast. Veteran British actor Cary Elwes and Hollywood legend Christopher Lloyd will play pivotal roles alongside Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, and Stockard Channing. Idris Elba and Adam Pally will reprise their respective roles as Knuckles and Wade Whipple. The series is expected to release in 2024 prior to the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in December 2024.

Carrie Fisher's final film to be released after seven-year wait

The legendary late actress Carrie Fisher, who has become immortalised in pop culture for her role as the iconic Princess Leia in Star Wars, will have her final film released next week. The Vlad Marsavin directorial endured several delays, and the fantasy film will finally hit theatres in the US next week, before a wider release on digital platforms on June 23rd. Titled Wonderwell, the film is described as a contemporary coming of age story set in Italy and a fantasy realm, revolving around a 12-year girl named Violet. The film also stars Nell Tiger Free, Sebastian Croft, and Rita Ora in pivotal roles.
