Manju Warrier signs deal to star in her third Tamil film

Veteran Malayalam actress Manju Warrier has been cast in the upcoming Tamil film Mr X. She will star alongside Arya and Gautham Karthik in the Manu Anand directorial which is scheduled to commence filming this month. The film will be Warrier’s third film in the Tamil industry after previously starring alongside Dhanush in Vetrimaaran’s 2019 film Asuran and alongside Ajith Kumar in this year’s Thunivu.

‘Squid Game’ season 2 announces cast

The hit Netflix series Squid Game is set to release its second season in 2024, and the streaming giant has announced four new cast members for the second season. The Korean survival drama series has added former K-pop singer and The Attorney star Im Siwan along with Midnight Runners actor Kang Ha Neul, The Glory star Park Sung Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun, the star of the Disney+ K-drama Connect.

Kevin Spacey’s ‘Peter Five Eight’ announces release date

Hollywood star Kevin Spacey, who has been embroiled in a sexual assault trial is set to have one of his first major film releases since the scandal. The thriller film is titled Peter Five Eight, and the rights for the film have been acquired by SPI International. The film will be released in August after the trial in the UK, which commences on July 28 and is expected to last for four weeks. The film also stars Rebecca De Mornay and Jet Jandreau in lead roles.

Janhvi Kapoor film ‘Ulajh’ commences production in London

The upcoming Janhvi Kapoor film Ulajh has begun filming in London. The highly anticipated film stars Kapoor in the lead as a young IFS officer who gets mixed up in a dangerous conspiracy while stationed abroad. The film is directed by National Award winner Sudhanshu Saria and also features Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles. Kapoor announced the news on social media. Janhvi fans are in luck as the first look teaser image of her next film Bawaal has also been released by the makers. Bawaal also stars Varun Dhawan in the lead and will release on Amazon Prime Video in July this year.

The series adaptation of the iconic legendary sci-fi film 'Metropolis' shelved by Apple TV+

The highly-anticipated remake of the iconic 1927 German sci-fi film Metropolis has been shelved by Apple TV+. The announcement comes as a result of the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike which has affected several big-budget productions in both film and television. Mr. Robot showrunner Sam Esmail was supposed to helm the project, which is based on one of the most groundbreaking and influential films in history.

'The Walking Dead' spin-off starring Norman Reedus releases first teaser

The Walking Dead franchise continues to expand and one of the latest spin-offs is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The series revolves around the fan-favourite titular character played by Norman Reedus. AMC released a new teaser trailer for the series which shows Daryl washed ashore across the Atlantic in France, with no recollection of how he ended up there – thousands of kilometres away from the US. Clémence Poésy, Anne Charrier, and Adam Nagaitis will essay prominent roles in the zombie apocalypse series.
