Mike Flanagan's 'The Fall of the House of Usher' releases teaser images

Mike Flanagan, best known for his horror hits such as The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Banor, and Midnight Mass is set to release his next Netflix original series, The Fall of the House of Usher. The highly-anticipated series features a star-studded ensemble of Bruce Greenwood, Mary McDonnell, Mark Hamill, Carl Lumbly, and Carla Gugino. The mini-series is based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe. The plot revolves around a pharmaceutical company CEO who is forced to confront his questionable past after his children begin to die under mysterious circumstances. The Fall of the House of Usher premieres on Netflix on October 12 and we’re buckled up for this bone-chilling ride.

'Beetlejuice 2' could be delayed due to ongoing strikes

It was reported earlier that Tim Burton was working on the sequel to the iconic 1988 horror comedy, Beetlejuice. It was also reported that lead stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder will reprise their roles in Beetlejuice 2. The film will introduce new characters as well, including Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, who is collaborating with Burton yet again after Wednesday. However, Burton has revealed that filming for Beetlejuice 2 was just two days away from completion before the WGA and SAG-AFRA strikes came into effect. Beetlejuice 2 is expected to release in 2024.

Shawn Levy is working on a new ‘Star Wars’ film

Filmmaker Shawn Levy, known for directing Free Guy, The  Adam Project, and the upcoming Deadpool 3, is working on a new Star Wars film. Despite the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Levy has assured fans that plans for the untitled film are still going ahead. In addition to Star Wars, Levy is also developing a series adaptation of the hit film Real Steel. Levy also confirmed that he will be returning to direct at least one of the final episodes of Stranger Things Season 5. Levy previously helmed the critically-acclaimed episode Dear Billy from the fourth season of the hit Netflix series.

'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom'  teaser released with date for first trailer

Warner Bros appears to be heading towards a profitable year after the monumental success of Barbie, which has grossed over $1.4 billion globally. With the hype surrounding Dune: Part II also reaching a fever pitch, the company may just manage to make a dent on the monopoly that Disney has enjoyed at the box office in the last decade. However, WB’s DC Film Studios has delivered four flops in a row, and the upcoming Aquaman sequel could join that list. The first film grossed over $1 billion at the box office, but the numerous changes in leadership and James Gunn’s reboot of the franchise have dampened the excitement surrounding Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The film is still going ahead with its 2023 release date, and the studio has released its first teaser. It was also revealed that the first trailer for the film will be released on September 14. The film stars Jason Momoa in the lead and is directed by James Wan. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is expected to release on December 20, 2023.

Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham Again’ scheduled for Independence Day 2024

The 2024 Independence Day will feature a face-off between Pushpa 2 and Singham Again at the Indian box office. The highly-anticipated Telugu sequel Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun, is set to release on 15 August 2024 –  the same day as Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, which is the third installment of the Singham franchise. The producers of both films could be hoping that the simultaneous release of their respective films might create the same hype and frenzy as Barbie and Oppenheimer.

‘Murder, She Wrote’  film adaptation in development

Dumb Money writers Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo are currently working on a script for a film adaptation of Murder, She Wrote. It is a reboot of the iconic 1984 crime drama TV series of the same name. The plot revolves around Jessica Fletcher, an amateur detective and a writer, who solves murder mysteries in the fictional town of Cabot Cove. Amy Pascal will serve as executive producer, but further details regarding the project have been kept under wraps.
