Mindhunter not returning for a third season confirms David Fincher

Fans of the critically-acclaimed crime drama series Mindhunter have reason to be disappointed. We’ve now learnt that the show will not be returning for a third season. Despite being unofficially cancelled by Netflix some time back, fans had hoped that the series would be revived at some point in the future, perhaps with a different streamer. However, creator David Fincher recently revealed that the show’s high cost of production and the relatively lower viewership numbers meant that the possibility of a third season on Netflix is almost none. Guess we will never get to see how the storyline about the BTK killer pans out.

David Harbour believes its time to end Stranger Things

Netflix’s iconic TV series Stranger Things is set to release its fifth and final season this year. Series regular David Harbour, who essays the role of Jim Hopper on the show, revealed that the time is right to end the series on a high note. He admitted that it will be bittersweet and also added that at one point, he wished it would never end. Now that’s a sentiment that will resonate with ST fans across the world. The fourth season of Stranger Things, which released in 2022, received universal acclaim and has been labelled by some as the best season to date. Will the final season trounce it on the popularity meter? We’ll just have to wait and watch.

Andrew Lincoln to return in Walking Dead spin-off

The original lead star of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln will reprise his role as Rick Grimes for a new spin-off. He will be joined by Danai Gurira, who will return to essay the role of Michonne. The production of the new series commenced last week in New Jersey and will feature six episodes. It is one of the several Walking Dead spin-offs currently in production, including The Walking Dead: Dead City starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohen, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon starring Norman Reedus. With all these zombie shows about to crowd our watchlist soon, we’ll surely need to pull more than a few all-nighters to keep up.

Stanley Kubrick's lost film Napoleon to be adapted by Steven Spielberg

Legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick will have his unreleased film Napoleon adapted into a seven-part mini-series by Steven Speilberg. The project was announced at the Berlin Film Festival and will be produced by HBO. The original film was supposed to chronicle the life of famed French leader Napoleon Bonaparte. Speilberg will like to take inspiration from the original script, and it will not be the first time Speilberg has taken up a project left unfinished by the late Kubrick. The 2001 Speilberg film A.I. Artificial Intelligence was originally a project Kubrick had undertaken before his passing.

CBS renews NCIS: Hawai'i for a third season

CBS’s popular crime series NCIS: Hawai'i has been renewed for a third season. Vanessa Lachey essays the lead role in the series which revolves around a group of Naval Crime Investigative Services members in Hawai'i. The series premiered in 2021 and has quickly become NCIS’s most popular location-based spinoff. The series is available to stream on Prime Video in India.

Not Dead Yet is ABC’s biggest debut in four years

Gina Rodriguez, who is best known for essaying the titular role in the hit comedy series Jane the Virgin, stars in the new ABC sitcom Not Dead Yet. Despite lukewarm reception by the critics, the series has become the most viewed ABC premiere in over four years. Rodriguez plays the lead as a woman looking for a fresh start in life as an obituary writer, but soon discovers that she can communicate with the ghosts of the people she is writing about. The series also stars New Girl alum Hannah Simone in a prominent role.
