Monk's Literary Deceit: The Viral Sensation of 'American Fiction’

Cord Jefferson's American Fiction trailer release has set the internet ablaze with excitement. The film features Jeffrey Wright in the role of Thelonious "Monk" Ellison, a struggling author whose works, while good, remain largely unnoticed. Monk resorts to a cunning ploy, writing a book he claims as his own, a "Black Book" penned under the alias Stagg R. Leigh. This work, filled with stereotypes and profitable images of a "typical" black person facing adversity, becomes an unexpected sensation, landing Monk a movie deal with Michael B. Jordan but also entangling him in criminal accusations inspired by his own narrative. The movie, releasing on 15th December this year, boasts a stellar cast, including Tracee Ellis Ross, and Sterling K. Brown, making it a must-see.

Unveiling ‘Eileen’ Poster - A Mind-Bending Thriller Featuring Anne Hathaway and Thomasin McKenzie

A poster for the upcoming film Eileen, starring Academy-Award winner Anne Hathaway and Last Night in Soho and Jojo Rabbit star Thomasin McKenzie, has been released. The historical psychological thriller is based on Ottessa Moshfegh's novel and intends to be gruelling, mysterious, and violent. The film, directed by William Oldroyd, premiered earlier this year at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January. The film’s adapted story is set in 1960s Massachusetts and revolves around Eileen's (McKenzie) predicament of working in prison while simultaneously dealing with the challenges enforced upon her by her alcoholic ex-policeman father. A much-wanted escape gets her close to the intriguing prison psychologist Dr. Rebecca (Anne Hathway), who takes her down a path of shocking truths. The poster increased audience anticipation for the film's premiere on 1st December 2023.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio join forces for their latest project, ‘The Wager’

Martin Scorsese reteams with Leonardo Di Caprio for another film, titled The Wager, following the soon-to-be-released Killers of the Flower Moon. Scorsese confirmed that the filming of The Wager is his first priority. The film is backed by Apple Original Films and is based on David Grann's best-selling novel The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder. Coincidently, Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon is based on David Grann's work. The Wager is a historical drama set in the early 1740s about a crew of English sailors who survive a shipwreck and land on Brazilian shores, only to be accused of mutiny. Further details about the film have been kept under wraps.

Kirti Kulhari's Debut: 'Sach is Life' Goes Global

Actress Kirti Kulhari is all set to make her international debut in a forthcoming feature film titled Sach is Life, directed by Harsh Mahadeshwar. This slice-of-life movie is inspired by the true story of the Munshi family, a diaspora couple in the US who are determined to champion the rights of their three-year-old child grappling with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Produced by Romila Saraf Bhat, Rahul Bhat, and Red Bison Productions based in Princeton, New Jersey, the film is scheduled for an April release next year. Principal shooting will take place in various locations, including Kashmir, New Delhi, New Orleans, New Jersey, and New York. The film also features Rocket Boys star Jim Sarbh in a prominent role.

Kangana Ranaut Delays ‘Emergency Release to Avoid Clash with Salman Khan's ‘Tiger 3’

In light of the upcoming clash with Salman Khan's Tiger 3, scheduled for November 12th, Kangana Ranaut has made the decision to postpone the release of her film, Emergency, centred on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and the 1975 national emergency. Expressing her reasoning on Twitter, Kangana has pushed back the release of this highly-anticipated project to the following year, referring to it as the culmination of her lifelong journey as an artist. Originally set for a November 24th debut, the film has now been rescheduled, with a new date to be announced soon. Kangana’s directorial debut also features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair, and Shreyas Talpade in pivotal roles.

James Wan's Atomic Monster to Adapt '90s Classic 'Gargoyles' for Disney+

James Wan's production company, Atomic Monster, is preparing to bring the beloved '90s animated series Gargoyles to Disney+. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that this fan-favourite show will be written and produced by Gary Dauberman, well-known for his work on the Annabelle franchise. The series, helmed by Greg Weisman, follows the adventures of Gargoyle warriors who awaken in New York City after centuries of being trapped in stone form. Despite its initial lack of success, Gargoyles maintains a devoted fan base, largely thanks to Weisman's ongoing efforts to continue the story in comic format. Weisman is also credited with helming the critically-acclaimed animated series Young Justice.

The Buccaneers: Apple TV+ Series Explores Love and Class Divides in Gilded Age New York

Apple TV+ is preparing for the upcoming debut of The Buccaneers, a series adapted from Edith Wharton's novel. Scheduled for release on November 8th, this show is expected to draw comparisons with Jane Austen's Sanditon. It unfolds within the Gilded Age of New York City, delving into the disparities between old and new wealth, shedding light on the divide between the royalty and the aristocracy. The series follows the journey of five young American women searching for love in England while navigating the complexities of social norms and etiquette, all under the guidance of a British governess.
