'The Brutalist' casts Adrien Brody and Joe Alwyn
Acclaimed Hollywood star Adrien Brody will play the lead in the upcoming period drama The Brutalist, based on the life of a Hungarian architect named László Toth. Brady Corbet will helm the project and will focus on 30 years of Toth’s life in the US with his wife after fleeing Europe in the aftermath of World War II. The film features an ensemble cast of Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, and Stacy Martin among others
Netflix to remake ‘The Wages of Fear’
French filmmaker Julien Leclercq is set to helm the Netflix remake of the iconic 1953 French film The Wages of Fear. The original film propelled its director Henri-Georges Clouzot to international acclaim. The original film is based on the novel by Georges Arnaud, titled The Salary of Fear, and narrates the tale of four men who are tasked with transporting nitroglycerin to an isolated oil field in South America. The film was remade in 1977 by William Friedkin and titled Sorcerer. Details regarding the new film are kept under wraps but it is expected to release in 2024.
'Faces of Death' remake to star Dacre Montgomery and Barbie Ferreira
The cult classic 1978 mondo horror film, Faces of Death, is getting a remake. Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber will helm the project, and it will be reimagined for the modern audience. John Alan Schwartz’s controversial original film featured real footage spliced with fake clips to create a documentary-style film about the various ways people die. The new film will star Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery and Euphoria actress Barbie Ferreira in lead roles.
Tina Fey and Daniel Radcliffe to star in an alien invasion animated comedy
The upcoming animated comedy Mulligan has cast Tina Fey and Daniel Radcliffe in pivotal roles. The Netflix series is helmed by the team behind iconic shows such as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and 30 Rock. The plot revolves around an ordinary man Matty Mulligan, who inadvertently ends up saving the world from an alien invasion, thanks to a few tricks he learned from watching films. Subsequently, he becomes the leader of what’s left of civilisation but soon realises that he is out of his depth when it comes to being in charge of rebuilding it. Nat Faxon plays the lead role, with a supporting cast of Chrissy Teigen, Sam Richardson, and Dana Carvey. The series is co-created by Robert Carlock and Sam Means and will premiere on May 12.
Hugo Weaving joins cast of Slow Horses season 4
The filming for the fourth season of the Apple TV+ spy drama series Slow Horses is currently underway. The third is yet to premiere but Apple renewed the series for a third fourth season even before the second season premiered last year. The fourth season has added The Lord of The Rings and The Matrix star Hugo Weaving to its cast. Gary Oldman stars in the lead and the plot revolves around a team of British intelligence agents who are part of the Slough House, which is the MI5's unofficial dumping ground for agents who have made career-ending mistakes.
Citadel India adds Sikandar Kher along with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth
The Indian version of the upcoming Prime Video spy thriller series Citadel has added Sikandar Kher to its cast. He will be joined by previously announced cast members Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The series will be helmed by the filmmaking duo Raj and DK, and is expected to release later this year. The English version will release on April 28 this year and stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead opposite Game of Thrones star Richard Madden.
