‘Padmini’ starring Kunchacko Boban postponed due to heavy rain

Padmini, the Malayalam drama film starring Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, and Madonna Sebastian has halted production due to torrential rains in Kerala. The film’s release has therefore been postponed. Actress Aparna Balamurali shared the news on social media and added that the new release date will be announced soon. The trailer for the Senna Hegde directorial was released recently, and the film revolves around a school teacher’s journey of finding the right life partner, but only for it to lead to a divorce.

‘Project K’ starring Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone to feature in the San Diego Comic-Con 2023

It was recently revealed that major studios such as Disney, Marvel, Lucas Films, WB, DC Films, and Sony will be skipping this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. It is speculated that the ongoing writer’s strike in the US is a major contributing factor behind the studios skipping SDCC this year. However, the Indian film, tentatively titled ‘Project K’ will feature at the SDCC this year. It will make history on July 20th by becoming the first Indian film to host a panel at the iconic event. The teaser trailer for the film is expected to be launched at the event, and will also feature special guests including  Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and director Nag Ashwin.

Gerard Butler’s  ‘Den of Thieves 2’ adds Michael Bisping

Former UFC Middleweight Champion, Michael Bisping, has been cast in Den of Thieves 2, starring Gerard Butler. The film is a sequel to the 2018 heist action film directed by Christian Gudegast. Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr will reprise their roles from the first film, with Gudegast also returning to helm the project. The sequel has already commenced filming in the UK and Canary Islands, and it follows Butler’s character Big Nick on the hunt for Jackson Jr’s character Donnie across Europe. The film is expected to release in 2024.

'Strange Planet' adaptation announces release date

The highly-anticipated adaptation of W. Pyle's bestselling graphic novel, Strange Planet, has finally announced its release date. The series was announced two years ago by Apple TV+, and it has been confirmed that the series will premiere on the streaming platform on 9th  August this year. The series will feature 10 episodes and it tells the story of blue beings from a distant world who follow peculiar traditions and rituals. Emmy Award-winner Dan Harmon, who is best known for creating Community and Rick and Morty will serve as showrunner, and the series stars Community star Danny Pudi in the lead.

Netflix's Formula One series on Ayton Senna casts Kaya Scodelario

The Maze Runner, Skins, and Pirates of the Caribbean star Kaya Scodelario has been cast in the Netflix series based on Formula One. The series is a biopic on the legendary former World Champion Ayrton Senna, who is widely regarded as the greatest F1 driver of all time. The Brazilian tragically passed away in 1994 after crashing his Williams FW16 at the Imola circuit while leading the race. Brazilian actor Gabriel Leone will essay the role of Senna, but details regarding Scodelario’s character have been kept under wraps.

'Ferrari' composer reveals plot details about the biopic

Composer Daniel Pemberton, who worked on the biopic on Enzo Ferrari, has provided further details about Michael Mann’s project in a recent interview with a news portal. He explained that while the film is about the late automotive mogul, it will feature plenty of motor racing and scintillating racing sequences. He also added that the film is also a complex drama that centres around grief. The film titled Ferrari stars Adam Driver as Ferrari and features a star-studded ensemble of Shailene Woodley, Patrick Dempsey, Jack O’Connell, Sarah Gadon, and Ayrton Senna biopic lead star Gabriel Leonne. The film is to premiere at the Venice Film Festival this year.
