Peter Dinklage’s janitor-turned-superhero film to be screened at Fantastic Fest
Peter Dinklage fans have sufficient reason to rejoice! Legendary Pictures has just unleashed a tantalizing sneak peek of The Toxic Avenger, an electrifying remake of the cult 1984 classic. Dinklage is diving headfirst into the lead role as Winston Gooze. He’s not your average janitor; he's a brooding, melancholic soul toiling away at a health club. The twist? A terminal illness sets him on a wild mission to pilfer from his employer, but fate plays a wicked hand, dunking him into a toxic vat of ooze. Voila! Gooze emerges from the goo, a hideously heroic monster known as the Toxic Avenger.
In the recently-released first look of the movie, Dinklage brandishes a luminescent green mop – a weapon that’s both intriguing and undoubtedly hazardous. The shadowy preview tantalizes us, keeping the enigmatic Gooze shrouded in mystery. Joining Dinklage on this electrifying journey is a star-studded cast: the talented Jacob Tremblay steps in as Gooze's son, and the lineup boasts heavyweights like Kevin Bacon, Julia Davis, Taylour Paige, Sarah Niles, Julian Kostov, Elijah Wood, Jane Levy, and Macon Blair.
Now, film history buffs will recall that the original flick spawned three sequels and carved out its place in the coveted splatter film genre. It’s been a long time coming, but buzz about this reboot has been brewing for years. The original seed was planted in 2010. Many directors hopped on and off the project before Legendary Pictures triumphantly nabbed the franchise rights in 2019. It is reported that at one point, even Hollywood biggies such as Arnold Schwarzenegger were considered for the role. Fast forward to 2020 and we had Dinklage bagging the leading role. In an interview with an entertainment portal, Dinklage spilled the beans about the flick being a “violent, road picture kind of thing we did in Bulgaria a couple of years ago”. In his own words, it’s a “crazy over the top” rollercoaster.
The Toxic Avenger premieres at Fantastic Fest on 21st September, 2023. News about the film’s theatrical release is still wrapped in secrecy. So keep those peepers peeled for updates.

Poirot fans should prepare for the unexpected
Fans of the legendary Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot have already watched the compelling trailer of A Haunting in Venice, starring Kenneth Branagh as the titular detective. Based on the trailer, this seems to be a mystery that borders on the supernatural. Branagh himself has shared that unlike previous Poirot films such as Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile which delved into themes of revenge and greed, A Haunting in Venice revolves around a story that is “beyond us”. Apart from Branagh, this mystery thriller also stars Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh, Tina Fey and Jamie Dornan. A Haunting in Venice releases in theatres on September 15 and we can’t wait for this spooky adventure.
American Horror Story Season 12 releases on September 20, 2023 in India
Over the years, American Horror Story has acquired a cult following with fans and critics alike. And we’re certain that the upcoming 12th season of the bone-chilling anthology will surely keep us on the edge of our seats.
FX is about to unleash a double dose of horror as American Horror Story: Delicate or the 12th season of AHS is set to haunt our screens on September 20, 2023 when the first part of this hair-raising saga is slated to drop. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have cooked up something truly sinister this time around and we’re ready to face our fears, are you?
Hold onto your holy water, because the newly-unveiled poster gives us a tantalizing glimpse into the eerie world of AHS: Delicate. Our leading lady, the incredibly talented Emma Roberts – no stranger to Ryan Murphy’s twisted tales – takes the spotlight. In the porter, she's seen cradling a spider that’s coiled around her torso like an unsettling baby bump. If this isn’t enough to send chills down your spine, you’d be spooked to learn that this season’s story draws inspiration from the Danielle Valentine novel Delicate Condition which follows a woman plagued by the chilling thought that a malevolent force is out to sabotage her pregnancy. It’s Rosemary's Baby with a splash of feminist flair, and we couldn’t ask for anything more sinister.
Steering this ship of horrors is showrunner Halley Feiffer. But what we’re really looking forward to seeing is reality superstar Kim Kardashian who will be venturing into her first lead acting role in AHS. But the chills don't stop there; the ensemble cast is stacked with talents such as Cara Delevingne, Zachary Quinto, MJ Rodriguez, Matt Czuchry, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Julie White, Odessa A’zion, and Debra Monk.
So, horror aficionados, mark your calendars, stock up on your comfort snacks, and prepare to brace yourselves for a double dose of horror like never before. American Horror Story: Delicate is slated to release in India on Disney+Hotstar on September 20, 2023.
