Tom Hiddleston to return for the second season The Night Manager

The Indian adaptation of John le Carré’s hit novel The Night Manager starring Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Sobhita Dhulipala has received much critical acclaim. Now it appears the 2018 British adaptation is being renewed for a second season. British star Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as the hotel manager Jonathan Pine who finds himself embroiled in a battle of wits against an international arms dealer. The new season will be set two years following the death of the said arms dealer and will find Pine grappling with a new threat.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas to star alongside Richard Madden in action thriller

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to join a new Hollywood project where she will share the screen with Game of Thrones star Richard Madden. Titled Citadel, the spy thriller series will be helmed by Avengers: Endgame directors the Russo brothers, and Patrick Moran. The Prime Video original series will also feature Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville in prominent roles, and the story revolves around two spies trying to piece together their memories after it was wiped clean following the destruction of their covert agency called the Citadel.

A new Pokémon stop-motion film in development

The success of cartoon and video game adaptations has triggered many projects in recent years. The latest to join the bandwagon is Netflix’s upcoming stop-motion series Pokémon Concierge. The trailer of the series was released as part of Netflix’s Pokémon Day celebrations. The story is set on an island resort where Pokémon trainers are free to relax and let their Pokemon run free on the island. The trailer shows the first look of one of the resort staff, a young woman named Haru and her pokemon Psyduck.

Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in new action-comedy Fubar

Hollywood action legend and former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to headline his very first TV show titled Fubar. The Netflix original series is about a father and daughter who discover that they are both secret CIA operatives. It will be an action comedy and will be helmed by Nick Santora, featuring a star-studded ensemble of Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Milan Carter, Aparna Brielle, and Fabiana Udenio. Fubar will drop on Netflix on the 25th of May.

Shondaland’s The Residence adds Andre Braugher and Susan Kelechi Watson

Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andre Braugher and This Is Us star Susan Kelechi Watson will co-star in the upcoming Shonda Rhimes series The Residence. The series is touted as a White House murder mystery with Uzo Aduba playing the lead. The comedy thriller narrates the story of a dead body which is discovered in the White House, turning each and every one of its 150 occupants into prime suspects.

Vishal Bhardwaj to adapt Agatha Christie’s ‘The Sittaford Mystery’

Acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is set to take inspiration from another book, and this time around it is The Sittaford Mystery by Agatha Christie. The series will be Bhardwaj’s second OTT project, after Netflix’s Khufiya. Set in the snow-capped hills of Himachal Pradesh, this SonyLIV mystery is titled Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley. The series follows its titular hero as he tries to solve a mystery in the Solang Valley. Naseeruddin Shah, Lara Dutta, Wamiqa Gabbi, Priyanshu Painyuli, Neena Gupta, Ratna Pathak Shah, Paoli Dam, Gulshan Grover, and Chandan Roy Sanyal will essay prominent roles in the series.
