The hit Netflix original series Rana Naidu, starring Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh, has been renewed for a second season. The action thriller series is a remake of the English TV series Ray Donovan starring Liev Schreiber. The Telugu remake topped the Netflix streaming charts in India for three consecutive weeks in March after its premiere. The streaming giant announced the news of the renewal on social media.

Michelle Yeoh to return as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek spinoff

Fresh from winning an Oscar for Best Performance for her starring role in Everything Everywhere All At Once, Michelle has her eyes set on a new project. The veteran actress will reprise her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from the Star Trek franchise for a new spin-off film. The new film is titled Star Trek: Section 31. The plot will revolve around Yeoh’s character Philippa the Empress of the Terran Empire in the 23rd century.

Galaxy Quest to be remade into a new series

The 1999 cult classic sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest will be remade into a sci-fi series by Paramount+. The original film starred Sigourney Weaver, Tim Allen, and Alan Rickman in lead roles with Sam Rockwell and Ranin Wilson in supporting roles. The film revolves around a group of actors who were once part of a successful sci-fi TV series. The washed-up actors are abducted by aliens who seek help from the cosmos.

Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre announce new comedy series

Years after the infamous fallout between Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre and its lead star Charlie Sheen, it appears the duo will set their past differences aside and work on a new project. Titled, How to be a Bookie, the series stars Sebastian Maniscalco in the lead as a bookie struggling to keep up after sports betting becomes legalised in the US.

Ewan McGregor cast in Prime Video’s new drama series

Prime Video’s upcoming drama series Lodi has cast Ewan McGregor in the lead role. Created by Timothy Greenberg, the series is inspired by an article by Andrew Dubbins. McGregor will essay the role of a car salesman Lou, who works as an informant for the FBI by infiltrating an organised crime family. Lou’s efforts help law enforcement in apprehending the infamous mafia crime boss Joe Bonnano.

Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen to star in Aziz Ansari’s new film

Lionsgate has announced a new film to be helmed by Aziz Ansari. The Parks and Recreation star will write, direct, and star in the upcoming comedy titled Good Fortune. While the plot details of the film have been kept under wraps, it has been revealed that Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen have been cast in the film.
