Richard Armitage and Michelle Keegan to star in Fool Me Once

Renowned author Harlan Coben and Netflix are set to collaborate again for a new project. The streaming giant plans to adapt a limited series based on Coben’s thriller novel, Fool Me Once. The Hobbit and Castlevania star Richard Armitage will play one of the lead roles in the series alongside Coronation Street alum Michelle Keagan and veteran British actress Joanna Lumley. The plot revolves around a woman who spots her supposedly dead husband on her daughter’s nanny cam and this, hopefully, will lead us down the rabbit hole.

Hindi remake of the Tamil film Love Today in the works

The Tamil romcom, Love Today was a sleeper hit when it released in theatres in 2022. The film’s popularity has caught the eye of filmmakers in Bollywood and has spawned a Hindi remake helmed by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment. Details regarding the cast and crew are yet to be confirmed, but the film is scheduled for a 2024 release, confirms Phantom Studio’s CEO Srishti Behl who was the former head of international originals at Netflix India.

Abhishek Bachchan's Jai Dixit from Dhoom may join YRF’s spy universe

Yash Raj Film’s ambitious ‘Spy Universe’ which already boasts blockbuster hits such as the Tiger franchise, War, and now, Pathaan, could get another major addition. According to reports, Aditya Chopra has plans to merge Abhishek Bachchan’s astute cop Jai Dixit from the Dhoom franchise to the Spy Universe. So, there is a possibility that Tiger, Kabir, Pathan, and Jai could feature in a major crossover scene in the future. This only means one thing: the world could never be any safer than in YRF’s spy-verse.

Anil Kapoor picked The Night Manager on Sonam’s insistence

Bollywood star Anil Kapoor recently shared the intricacies involved in transitioning from a Bollywood movie star to an international TV star in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. Kapoor, who made his first foray into television with the American TV series 24, starring Keifer Sutherland in the lead, admitted that creating a Hindi remake for 24 was far more challenging than he had anticipated. He added that his daughter Sonam was instrumental in him joining the cast of Slumdog Millionaire as she’s a fan of Boyle’s iconic film Trainspotting. And now we learn that Sonam played a key role in her father’s decision to star in the new Disney+ Hotstar Original series, The Night Manager. Kapoor revealed that Sonam is a fan of John le Carré, the author of the Night Manager and convinced him to take up the role.

Helen Mirren plays former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in new biopic

Filmmaker Guy Nattiv's drama is a biopic on former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir. Titled Golda, the film stars Academy Award-winner Helen Mirren as the titular character. The plot is set in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War, and the film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival on the 20th of February 2023. Variety reviewed the film and described it as “a good drama about Israel.” But added that “it will take a great drama about Israel to dig into the nation’s long-simmering moral ambiguities.”

James Cameron’s Hiroshima to begin production before Avatar 4

James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water continues to shatter box-office records as it recently passed Cameron’s Titanic as the third highest-grossing film of all time, behind Cameron’s 2009 film Avatar at number one and the Marvel film Avengers: Endgame in second. Cameron already has several sequels lined up with pre-production already underway for the third film. However, according to a report in the LA Times, Cameron plans to do a fourth film only after completing the film Hiroshima, an adaptation of Charles R. Pellegrino’s novel The Last Train From Hiroshima: The Survivors Look Back. The film will focus on the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki from the perspective of the survivors.
