Robert Eggers’ ‘Nosferatu’ concludes production

Robert Eggers may not have found mainstream popularity just yet, but the American filmmaker has quietly earned a reputation as one of the best in the business with releases such as The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman. His highly anticipated remake of Nosferatu has completed production and is expected to release in 2024. The original 1922 film is loosely based on the iconic novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, often referred to as Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The remake stars It and John Wick 4 actor Bill Skarsgård as the titular vampire, while Lily-Rose Depp, who is set to star in Sam Levinson’s upcoming series The Idol, will essay the role of Ellen Hutter, the object of Nosferatu’s desire. Nicholas Hoult, who recently starred in another Dracula film Renfield, will slip into the role of Ellen’s fiancé.

‘How to Train Your Dragon’ live-action adaptation announces lead stars

Fans of the animated film, How to Train Your Dragon, can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as the lead characters have finally been cast. Mason Thames, who is best known for his role in the 2022 horror film, The Black Phone, has been cast as Hiccup, while The Last of Us actress Nico Parker will play the role of Astrid. Filmmaker Dean DeBlois will make his feature film debut, and the film is expected to release on March 24, 2024.

Diljit Dosanjh to star as Amar Singh Chamkila in Netflix biopic

Popular Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is set to play the titular role in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film Amar Singh Chamkila. Dosanjh will play the role of the legendary Punjabi rockstar Amar Singh Chamkila, who is widely regarded as a trailblazer in the Punjabi music industry. The Netflix film will be a musical and also stars Parineeti Chopra in pivotal roles. The streaming giant released the first trailer for the film.

Upcoming 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' animated film to feature new cast

Avatar: The Last Airbender is widely regarded as one of the best animated TV shows of all time, one that featured compelling themes, engaging storytelling, and excellent performances by the cast. The animated series is finally getting its long-awaited film adaptation. However, Jessie Flower, who played the role Toph in the original series has confirmed that the entire cast is being replaced by new voice actors for the film. It is set for a 2025 release

Martin Scorsese to make a new film on Jesus

Fresh from helming the critically-acclaimed film Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese has announced his next project. The award-filmmaker has confirmed that he will be working on a film based on Jesus. It would be Scorsese’s second film surrounding Christianity, after helming The Last Temptation in 1988. Scorcese also added that the announcement comes after the Pope’s appeal to artists to guide humanity through their art. Further details regarding the project have been kept under wraps.

Ezra Miller will not be recast in The Flash sequel confirms Andy Muschietti

As the release of DC film The Flash draws closer, there is no news regarding Ezra Miller’s future in James Gunn’s vision for DC’s new cinematic universe called the DCU. However, The Flash director Andy Muschietti has reiterated his desire to continue working with Miller, arguing that no actor can do a better job at depicting the character than Miller. Muschietti’s statements will certainly draw much debate as Miller has been involved in several altercations with the law in recent years. Whereas fans of Henry Cavill will feel aggrieved that Superman is being recast but Miller could potentially stay on as the Flash, despite the controversies.
