‘Saltburn’ announces new release date

Emerald Fennell, best known for helming the critically-acclaimed thriller Promising Young Woman, is set to release her second feature film Saltburn. The film premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival earlier this year. Saltburn is expected to receive a limited theatrical release in the UK and US on November 17, before releasing worldwide on November 22. The psychological thriller features a star-studded ensemble of Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, and Archie Madekwe. Director Fennell is currently working on the script for the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, which is scheduled to release in 2024.

WGA strikes tentative deal with AMPTP

After months of strikes and failed negotiations, the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers finally agreed on terms for a tentative deal. The final deal is expected to be concluded on Tuesday. An alleged meeting between CEOs of Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros, and Universal last week with the WGA's chief negotiator and the President of the AMPTP appears to have finally ended the 5-month-long strike by the writers. Picketing has been put on hold and the WGA released a statement about the breakthrough in negotiations. However, SAG-AFTRA strikes by the actors are set to continue with negotiations of a new deal yet to commence.

K. G. George, National Award-winning filmmaker, passes away

National and State Award-winning Malayalam filmmaker K. G. George has passed away at the age of 77. George is revered as a revolutionary filmmaker who helped redefine Malayalam cinema with iconic hits such as the National Award-winning film Swapnadanam and other award-winning films such as Mela, Yavanika, Panchavadi Palam, and Irakal.

‘Ganapath-A Hero is Born’, starring Tiger Shroff, announces teaser release date

Ganapath: A Hero Is Born, starring Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff is set to release this year on 20th October during Dussehra. The Vikas Bahl directorial also stars Kriti Sanon and Amitabh Bachchan, and it is touted as a mass action entertainer. Ganapath: A Hero Is Born is produced by Pooja Entertainment and the first teaser trailer for the film is set to be released this week on September 27.

Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan to film romantic ballad in Italy for ‘Fighter’

Siddharth Anand's action thriller Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone is set to commence its final phase of filming. The cast and crew will be in Italy to shoot a dance sequence and a romantic ballad with the lead stars. Veteran star Anil Kapoor will also be part of the 15-day schedule in Italy. Fighter is the first film of a planned trilogy and is set to release on January 26, 2024.
