‘The Broken News’ star to make Bollywood debut in SRK’s ‘Jawan’

TV actress and singer Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, who has appeared in TV shows such as Feels Like Ishq and The Broken News, is set to make her Bollywood debut. The Grammy-nominated singer will star in the highly-anticipated Shah Rukh Khan film, Jawan. Bhattacharya revealed in an interview with a news portal that she was initially unaware that she was auditioning for a part in Jawan, and that she was overwhelmed with joy and disbelief on getting to learn about it. The action-thriller is directed by Atlee and stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayantara, and Sanya Malhotra. The film is set to release on September 7 and is Shah Rukh Khan’s next following the phenomenal success of Pathaan.

Untitled Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon romantic drama announces release date

Without an official title yet, Maddock Films’ upcoming romantic drama has announced its release date. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles and is labelled an ‘impossible love story’. There is speculation that Sanon will essay the role of a cyborg while Kapoor will play a scientist. The film also stars Dharmendra in a prominent role and the film is set to release on 7th December this year.

Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’s release date announced by Sony LIV

Sony LIV has announced that the highly-anticipated Scam 2003: The Telgi Story is set to release this year. The Hansal Mehta series will be a direct adaptation of journalist Sanjay Singh’s book Reporter Ki Diary, which focuses on the infamous stamp paper scam involving counterfeiter Abdul Karim Telgi. The series will premiere on 2nd September this year on Sony LIV.

Highly-anticipated One Piece’s live-action adaptation sets release date

The Netflix TUDUM event in Brazil revealed a few release dates and exclusive first looks of several upcoming Netflix projects. But the biggest news from the event was the first-look trailer of the live-action adaptation of the legendary anime One Piece. The streaming service also announced that Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, will make their live-action debut on August 31st this year – much sooner than fans had predicted.

Linda Hamilton joins Stranger Things Season 5 cast

Hollywood legend Linda Hamilton, who is best known for essaying the iconic role of Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise has been cast in Stranger Things Season 5. The announcement was made during the TUDUM event. Details regarding her character have been kept under wraps, but reports indicate that she will be playing a major character.

Netflix renews FUBAR for a second season

The hit action-comedy series FUBAR, which marked the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger, has been renewed for a second season by Netflix. While the series may have received mixed reactions from critics, it has certainly garnered plenty of interest from Netflix subscribers. The series also stars Monica Barbaro in the lead role as Emma, the daughter of Schwarzenegger’s Luke. The plot revolves around ex-CIA agent Luke, who is forced to return to active duty only to discover that Emma is also secretly working for the CIA. Further details regarding the second season are yet to be revealed, including the plot and release date. But this news gives us enough fodder to say, ‘he’ll be back’.
