Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ reaches new global box office milestone

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest blockbuster, Jawan, has already broken several major box office records since it hit theatres earlier this month. The Atlee directorial has surpassed $96 million at the global box office and is expected to cross the $100 million mark soon. Khan’s Pathaan, which released earlier this year grossed $130 million globally and is the next potential milestone for Jawan. Jawan has also become the eighth highest-grossing Indian film of all time.

‘Animal’ starring Ranbir Kapoor announces teaser release date

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film Animal, which stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, has announced the release date of its first look teaser. The action-thriller launched its first poster and revealed that the first teaser trailer for the film will be released on 28th September – the day of lead star Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday. Animal will premiere on December 1, 2023, in five regional languages, but further details regarding the project have been kept under wraps.

Madhuri Dixit in talks to star in Hansal Mehta’s Saroj Khan biopic

Veteran Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming Hansal Mehta project. The film will be bankrolled by T-Series, and it is a biopic on Saroj Khan – the renowned Indian dancer and choreographer. According to reports several actors will be cast to play the lead role, in order to chronicle the various stages of Khan’s life. Further details about the project are yet to be announced.

'Boogeyman' director Rob Savage to team up with Zainab Aziz for three films

Filmmaker Rob Savage, who is best known for helming the 2023 horror film Boogeyman has been roped in for multiple new projects according to reports. Boy Kills World producer Zainab Aziz will team up with Savage and The Nun director Corin Hardy for three horror films. Boy Kills World stars Andrew Koji and Bill Skarsgård are also reportedly in talks to star in the upcoming projects. Boy Kills World, directed by Moritz Mohr, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 9th September.

HBO cancels ‘Winning Time’ after two seasons

HBO has announced that the American sports drama TV series, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,  about the iconic LA Lakers NBA team from the ‘80s has been cancelled. Created by Max Borenstein and Jim Hecht, the series received critical acclaim over the course of its two seasons. The series features a star-studded ensemble of John C. Reilly, Jason Clarke, Jason Segel, Gaby Hoffmann, Rob Morgan, and Adrien Brody in lead roles. The news was announced immediately after the second season’s finale was released. It is based on Jeff Pearlman’s book, Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s, and the series is available to stream on JioCinema in India.

‘Oppenheimer’ becomes the highest-grossing biopic in history

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer continues its record-breaking run at the global box office after it passed yet another milestone. The Cillian Murphy-led film passed $900 million at the box office after nine weeks since its premiere. The three-hour R-rated biopic has also become the highest-grossing biographical drama film of all time. It is also the third highest-grossing film of 2023, behind Barbie and The Super Mario Bros movie, both grossing $1.41 billion and $1.36 billion respectively.
