Siddharth Anand becomes the highest paid director at YRF

Pathaan director Siddharth Anand has reportedly become the highest-paid director from the Yash Raj Films stable, after collecting a reported fee of Rs.40 crores for the upcoming film Tiger vs Pathaan. The news comes as no surprise considering the Shah Rukh Khan film Pathaan shattered box-office records earlier this year. The much-awaited Tiger vs Pathaan is the next film in YRF’s spyverse and will be a crossover between the Salman Khan-led Tiger franchise and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan franchise. The film will commence shooting next year and we’re stoked to see how this one turns out.

‘Oppenheimer’ to be Nolan’s first R-rated film in over 20 years

In the last two decades, acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan has only made PG-13 films. But the auteur has now confirmed that his upcoming blockbuster Oppenheimer will receive an R-rating, which is the equivalent of an A rating in India. The last Nolan film to receive an R-rating was the 2002 thriller Insomnia, starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams, and Hilary Swank. Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy, is set to release on July 21st with a runtime of three hours, and it will release on the same day as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

‘Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’ starring Vicky Kaushal to begin filming soon

The highly-anticipated Vicky Kaushal film Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is set to begin filming in September. The film is directed by Laxman Utekar, who has also helmed the recent Vicky Kaushal film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke which also stars Sara Ali Khan. The upcoming film Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is a period biopic on the eponymous Maratha ruler and will be set in the 17th century.

Utkarshini Vashishtha to pen Devika Rani and Himanshu Rai biopic

Bareilly Ki Barfi director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has roped in Gangubai Kathiawadi writer Utkarshini Vashishtha to co-write her next. Tiwari is set to helm a biopic on Devika Rani and Himanshu Rai, the husband-wife duo who are widely regarded as the pioneers of Indian cinema. Further details regarding the project have been kept under wraps. But we’re sure this is going to be an epic period piece.

Netflix’s 'Tudum: A Global Fan Event' to be headlined by Chris Hemsworth and Henry Cavill

The Netflix online fan event Tudum is set to return this year, and several big names from Hollywood will be in attendance. Superman and Thor themselves will be headlining the event as Henry Cavill and Chris Hemsworth will be promoting The Witcher season 3 and Extraction 2. They will also be joined by the cast of The Witcher, Bridgerton, and Wednesday, along with filmmaker Zack Snyder, whose film Rebel Moon is set to premiere on the platform later this year. The event will be live-streamed from São Paulo Brazil on the 17th of June, and will feature new trailers and exclusive footage.

Dwayne Johnson to return to the Fast and Furious franchise in a new spin-off

In a shocking turn of events, Dwayne Johnson is set to return as Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise. Johnson and Vin Diesel were involved in a very public feud in recent years, which effectively ended Johnson’s involvement in the franchise. However, Johnson’s post-credit scene in the latest film Fast X, which took audiences by surprise, indicated that the Rock is back as Hobbs. And new reports have emerged that Johnson will be headlining a standalone spinoff surrounding his character Hobbs. Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw writer Chris Morgan will also return to pen the script for the new spinoff.
