The Bear season 2 release date announced

One of the most critically-acclaimed TV shows of 2022, The Bear, has finally announced the release date of its second season. The FX original comedy series is set to release its new season on June 22 with lead star Jeremy Allen White returning along with Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The award-winning series revolves around a young chef who returns to his hometown in order to run his family’s sandwich shop.

Lord of War sequel announced with Nicolas Cage and Andrew Niccol returning

Andrew Niccol’s cult classic crime drama Lord of War is getting a sequel nearly 18 years after the release of the original. Nicholas Cage will reprise his role as the international arms dealer Yuri Orlov – a character based on the real-life Russian gunrunner Viktor Bout. Bill Skarsgård has also been cast in the film as Cage’s son. The film will commence production later this year.

Matthew McConaughey cast in new crime thriller

Andrew Patterson, the director of The Vast of Night, is set to helm a new crime thriller titled, The Rivals of Amaziah King. He has roped in Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey to essay the titular role in the film. However, further details regarding the film have been kept under wraps.

Rajinikanth to star in daughter Aishwarya’s directorial

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is set to slip into a new avatar for the upcoming film Lal Salaam. He will make a special appearance in the film, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth will essay the lead roles in the film, while Rajinikanth will play a pivotal cameo as Moideen Bhai in a plot set against the backdrop of cricketing action.

Modern Love Chennai announces release date on Prime

Amazon Prime Video has announced the release date of the anthology series Modern Love Chennai. The series is the third Indian adaptation of John Carney’s Modern Love anthology series following Modern Love Hyderabad and Modern Love Mumbai. The upcoming series will be set in Chennai and explores various love stories and the complex relationships that many find themselves in. The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on the 18th of May.

CBS makes a U-turn on SWAT cancellation

American network CBS has decided to take a U-turn on its decision to cancel the procedural drama series S.W.A.T. The news comes just days after it was announced that the Shemar Moore-led series will not be renewed for another season. The network claims that they decided to greenlight the series for a seventh and final season due to popular demand. The next season will however feature only 13 episodes and will be available to stream on Sony LIV.
