Aryan Khan’s new web series to feature cameos by Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar

Ranveer Singh, who recently starred in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, is set to star alongside the film’s director Karan Johar in a new web series. The duo will make cameo appearances in Aryan Khan’s upcoming web series titled Stardom. Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, will make his directorial debut with the series. It will tell a fictionalised tale about the Bollywood film industry. It was recently reported that Karan Johar is set to helm a new action film, while Ranveer Singh is set to replace Shah Rukh Khan for the third instalment of the Don franchise.

‘King of Kotha’ trailer release postponed as a sign of respect to filmmaker Siddique’s passing

The highly-anticipated first-look trailer of the Dulquer Salmaan film, King of Kotha, has been postponed. Salmaan, whose production company Wayfarer Films has bankrolled the project, made the announcement on social media. The filmmakers came to the decision as a tribute to the late Malayalam filmmaker Siddique, who passed away earlier this week. Siddique was one-half of the iconic filmmaking duo of Siddique-Lal, who have created blockbuster hits such as Ramji Rao Speaking. King of Kotha is helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, and it is a crime action thriller set against the backdrop of two warring factions.

Trailer for ‘Kushi’ starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu released

Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda is set to star alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the upcoming romantic drama Kushi. The Shiva Nirvana directorial revolves around the heartwarming love story between Aaradhya and Viplav, played by Deverakonda and Prabhu. The trailer for the film was recently released and Kushi is expected to hit theatres on 1st September 2023.

Five Japanese reality shows unveiled by Netflix

Streaming giant Netflix has recently unveiled five new Japanese reality shows. It is part of the platform’s aggressive expansion into the global market. The reality shows include dating shows titled Is She the Wolf?, Love Like a K-Drama, and Love Village. The line-up also includes a spin on Japan’s classic comedy reality shows titled, Lighthouse, and the comedy competition show Last One Standing. The shows are slated to be released in 2023.

Sydney Sweeney’s character in ‘Madame Web’ confirmed

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, who recently starred in the TV series Reality, was previously announced to be part of the cast of Madame Web. Despite speculation that she will be playing a version of Spider-Woman, which iteration of the character she is playing was never confirmed. In the Spider-Man mythos, several women have taken up the mantle of Spider-Woman, including Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter, Ashley Barton, and Gwen Stacey. It has now been confirmed that Sydney Sweeney will essay the role of Julia Carpenter in the upcoming film, who is considered the second Spider-Woman. The S. J. Clarkson directorial stars Dakota Johnson as the titular character, with Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott among others playing supporting roles. Madame Web is set for a 16 February 2024 release.

‘Oppenheimer’ crosses a new box office milestone

The ‘Barbenheimer’ juggernaut has shown no signs of slowing down, with both Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer breaking numerous box-office records. It was reported that Barbie comfortably crossed the $1 billion mark just two weeks into its theatrical run, making it the first film to be directed by a solo female filmmaker to achieve this feat. The latest box office numbers for the R-rated Oppenheimer indicate that it has become the highest-grossing World War II film of all time, breaking the record held by another Christopher Nolan film, Dunkirk. Oppenheimer has raked in $559 million so far and is expected to break more records.
