‘True Lies’ series cancelled

American network CBS has announced that the action comedy series, True Lies has been cancelled after one season. The series is a TV adaptation of James Cameron’s hit film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis. The plot revolves around a suburban housewife who realises that her husband is an undercover spy. The series adaptation failed to impress both audiences and critics during its first season, so the network has decided to pull the plug on the project. The series will air its finale on the 17th of May, and it's available to stream on Disney+ Hostar in India.

Rosario Dawson and Tony Revolori cast in new animated series ‘Ghosts of Ruin’

The Mandalorian and Daredevil star Rosario Dawson is set to star alongside The Grand Budapest Hotel actor Tony Revolori in the upcoming Western animated series Ghosts of Ruin. The genre-bending series will be set in a world where the lines between virtual reality and the real world have become blurred and the video games are synced directly into the minds of the players. Dawson and Revolori will play the roles of competitive gamers Prism and Lee who enter a gaming tournament before it is infiltrated by a rogue program. PJ Accetturo and Ryan Ramsey will serve as showrunners.

‘Jack Ryan’ fourth and final season release date announced

John Krasinski will return as the CIA agent Jack Ryan in the fourth and final season of the Prime Video original series Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. The fourth season will feature six episodes, with the first two episodes to premiere on the 30th of June and the finale to drop on July 14.

Created by Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland, the series also stars Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, and Mike November.

Stephen King's 'The Monkey' to be adapted by James Wan

The White Lotus star Theo James has been cast in James Wan’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s short story, The Monkey. The plot revolves around twin brothers Bill and Hall who stumble upon their father’s toy monkey, only to realise that a series of gruesome deaths have begun occurring around them since they found the toy. Wan will serve as executive producer and the film will be directed by Osgood Perkins.

Mike Flanagan’s ‘The Life of Chuck casts Tom Hiddlestone and Mark Hamil

Another Stephen King story is also set to be adapted and it's the short story anthology If It Bleeds. Hollywood legend Mark Hamill is set to team up with Tom Hiddleston for the feature and it will be directed by renowned horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan. The plot revolves around Charles Krantz aka Chuck who dies from a brain tumour, and the story will be told in reverse chronology exploring his childhood in a mansion that is believed to be haunted. Further details regarding the project have been kept under wraps.

Roshan Mathew to star opposite Janhvi Kapoor in spy thriller ‘Ulajh’

Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew is set to star alongside Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor in the upcoming thriller Ulajh. The duo will be joined by Shaitan actor Gulshan Devaiah in the Sudhanshu Saria directorial. The plot will focus on the Indian Foreign Services and delve into the intriguing lives of its officers. The film will commence production late this month.
