Record-setting figure skater, sports commentator, actress and documentary film maker, Tara Lipinski has finally achieved what she had long yearned for: motherhood. Since producer Todd Kapostasy and Lipinski’s wedding in 2017, the couple had been trying hard to get pregnant.

However, four miscarriages, multiple ‘D and C’s ( an agonising procedure that removes tissues from your uterus for different kinds of medical conditions), and one endometriosis diagnosis later, the relentless warrior had almost given up hope till the couple chose surrogacy and met their surrogate Mikayla.

After a five-year long struggle, the couple finally welcomed their daughter Georgie on October 25. They took to their podcast Unrelenting, as well as social media to share the happy news. They had launched Unrelenting in August, in order to vulnerably share and be open about their fertility struggles, so that it may help and empower all who are on the same journey.

How does new momma Lipinski feel about motherhood?

On her Instagram wall, Lipinski posted her delightful news with an buoyant caption, “We are so grateful that we get to make this announcement that our baby is here. It feels so surreal and I’m experiencing a feeling of happiness that I have never felt before. This little embryo that Todd and I made together has come to life! We are so grateful and forever thankful to our surrogate. Mikayla, thank you for carrying her safely into our arms. “

Reminiscing her previous fertility struggle for half a decade, Lipinski was simply grateful that she did not give up and got to experience having and loving her own baby. In an interview with People magazine, she admitted to having “dreamt about it [this] for so long.” According to the new mother, “it’s the best tired she’s [I’ve] ever been.”
