Skylab, a space adventure film, starring Satyadev Kancharana, Nithya Menen, Rahul Ramakrishna, Tanikella Bharani, Thulasi, Vishnu and Anusha in key roles, has wrapped its shoot and is in the last leg of post-production. The film, written and directed by Vishvak Khanderao, set in the 1970s (1979 to be precise), is all set to hit theatres soon. Skylab is produced by Prithhvi Pinnamaraju, under Byte Futures and Nithya Menen Company. The makers are planning to launch the film's theatrical trailer in October.
"Telugu audiences have always encouraged all kinds of cinema, regardless of the genre or cast. We've made Skylab with a firm belief that it'll strike a chord with them. Many decades ago, there were rumours that NASA's spaceship Skylab may crash into the earth and destroy the planet completely. The world was anxiously waiting with bated breath about its developments. Several news channels and weeklies across the world covered these reports. How will the lives of Gouri, Anand, Rama Rao (natives of the Banda Lingampally village) change because of Skylab? You need to watch our film for answers," the director said.
The film underwent extensive pre-production and was completed as per schedule. Several top technicians and experienced actors have worked on Skylab, which is barely a few weeks away from a theatrical release. The team had also collaborated with the reputed Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra for the film's score recently. Prashanth R Vihari is the music director of Skylab. Aditya Javvadi has handled the cinematography while Ravi Teja Girijala is the editor. Shivam Rao has worked on the production design with Dhanush Nayanar in charge of the sound design.
