Smriti Irani, a member of the Union Cabinet and well-known for portraying Tulsi in the television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, recently talked about the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. His untimely passing had an impact on the former actress. She broke down during a recent interview when talking about Sushant. Even worse, she admitted that she had told him "not to kill himself."

On The Slow Interview, Smriti discussed Sushant's passing on June 14, 2020 while speaking to Neelesh Misra. She admitted that when she learned of the bad news, she was engaging in a video conference. She shared, "The day Sushant died, I was on a VC (video conference). There were many people. But I just couldn’t… I said stop it. I felt like, why did he not call me? He should have called once. I had told that boy, ‘Tum yaar maarna mat apne aap ko."

Smriti stated that as soon as she heard Sushant's news, she called Amit Sadh right away. She worried about Amit. She stated: She said, "Instantly, I was scared for Amit Sadh. I called him and asked him what he is up to. I knew, kuch gadbad karega bachcha. Usne mujhe kaha, mujhe nahi rehna, kya kiya iss idiot ne. I got the sense that something is wrong. He asked me, ‘You don’t have work?’ I said, ‘I do, but just let’s talk’."

Earlier in his interviews, Amit talked about how Smriti Irani gave him a lot of support when he was struggling after Sushant's passing. He also revealed that she frequently calls to see how he's doing.

In Kai Po Che, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Amit and Sushant collaborated. Rajkummar Rao played a significant role in the movie as well. In 2013, it did well at the box office, and even now, all three stars are praised for their solid performances.
