Somraj Maity and Indrani Bhattacharya to pair up for new serial Chini

Somraj Maity returns to the small screen after Jionkathi. Indrani Bhattacharya who played Googly in Khelnabari will team up with him. She was the second lead on Zee Bangla but now is a heroine in a Star Jalsha serial. The new serial Chini's promo came out. 

The serial is created by Sahana Dutta and made by Missing Screw Productions. The story deals with reincarnation. Initially, the name was set to Janmantar. Chini is a motherless girl whose father works as a driver in the Roychoudhury family. One day, Chini arrives at their place and becomes amazed at the royal palace. But the house owner Sohag Sen is not pleased with Chini coming to their place. She asks 'Who permitted the driver's daughter to come to this house despite my order otherwise?' She came to know that Chini came here with the permission of her grandson Dron. 

Chini, while taking a blessing from Sohag by touching her feet, becomes disoriented. She has a vision that the care they came by is burning. A bride in the car is trying to save herself. Though her face is blurred, it is evident that the accident happened with Chini at her previous birth. 

'The car has been set on fire, she is burning...' Chini shouts and runs outside. Then enters the hero Dron, played by Somraj. He stops Chini and asks 'If the car burns, how come you are here?' Chini's delusion goes away and she asks herself 'Did I see wrong?' 

Sahana Dutta recently made Panchami for Star Jalsa which also tells the story of Nagin and reincarnation. Serials like Alor Kole or Tumi Ase Pase Thakle also deal with the supernatural. 

This month, Gnatchora will end and Tunte's slot will be changed. Saheb and Susmita's new mega Kotha will take Tunte's place. Which serial will be replaced by Chini? Anurager Chnoa is the oldest in the Star Jalsa and it lost its place in the top five in this week's TRP ranking. Does this suggest an ominous fate for the serial? Only time will tell.
