The upcoming comedy-action sequel, Son of Sardaar 2, will have Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Jassi, and the first look is finally out. The film is being directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and is set to be released in theatres on July 25, 2025.
The official poster features Devgn standing confidently atop two military tanks, wearing a black leather jacket and a yellow turban, which boldly nods to his original persona with a stylised upgrade. The announcement coincided with the film's release.
Produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N. R. Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, Son of Sardaar 2 is presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films. This film was co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. Jagdeep Singh Sidhu penned the script, while Danish Devgn is in charge of creative production.
The original 2012 film Son of Sardaar starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and Juhi Chawla is already more than ten years old, and this sequel follows in its footsteps. Slapstick humour, eccentric characters, and outrageous action were hallmarks of the original film. At the box office, it did well, and it gained a devoted following.
With "double the dhamaka and double the masti", the creators of Son of Sardaar 2 claim to be able to recreate the series' electrifying energy. Mrunal Thakur will portray the female lead alongside Ajay Devgn in the film; however, the rest of the supporting cast is still a mystery.
The poster's slogan, "The Return of Sardaar," further emphasises the return of a well-known character. The film's promotion is highlighting Devgn's comeback as Jassi as its main selling point, and its release date puts it in a prime position for a solo theatrical window prior to the excitement ahead of the Independence Day 2025 weekend.
After its theatrical run concludes, Son of Sardaar 2 will be accessible on Netflix, allowing it to reach viewers all over the world.
Stay tuned for more updates about the film's soundtrack, new cast members, and trailer release in the weeks to come.
