Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj is one of the most-anticipated movies of the year. The historical biography also features Sonu Sood in an important role and the actor has now opened up about working with Akshay Kumar.

Talking to Pinkvilla, Sonu Sood said that he has already worked with Kumar in two hit movies, Singh is Kinng and Entertainment and that the two of them share a chemistry.

He added that there is this certain comfort level as actors and as individuals and that in the movie, his character Chand Bardai and Prithviraj are best friends who grew up together and shared a bond.

“So somewhere, it was easy for us to create because we know each other for many years and especially when you are doing a historical film, many things are easy because you live in that era, the costumes, and the language,” said Sonu Sood.

Samrat Prithviraj is based on the life of King Prithviraj Chauhan, and will chronicle different aspects of his life including his love life as well as his incredible valour in the face of war.

Two trailers for the movie have already been released by the makers, and we get to see both Chand Bardai and Prithviraj share some happy moments in them. The first trailer for the movie has over 68 million views on YouTube.

Apart from Kumar and Sood, the movie also stars Manushi Chhillar, as she makes her Bollywood acting debut. Sanjay Dutt, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar also feature in the period war drama in supporting roles.

The movie is backed by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films and is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The movie is set to hit theatres in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on June 3.
