Sonu-Tapu wedding becomes the hot topic on TMKOC again - All you need to know

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was in news recently when original Sonu aka actress Jheel Mehta revealed the one cringe moment she found on the show. It dates back to the child marriage between Tapu and Sonu. Years passed and the children have grown up but the topic is touched upon again. Well, almost.

Bapuji adamant on Tapu's wedding, Bhide excited

Last night's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah episode (available for streaming on SonyLIV via OTTplay Premium) saw Bapuji turn excited while sharing the news of Tapu's wedding with Bhide. Given that it is Bhide getting the news, he is even more excited that Tapu will get married and it would not be to his darling daughter, Sonu.

Bhide also shared a secret with Bapuji and Tapu. He has also started looking for potential matches for Sonu and has found one. The very match is about to reach Sonu's doorstep. This new boy and his family members will be explored in tonight's episode. Interestingly, Tapu is aware of this boy and has a plan in place, which even the Tapu sena is unaware of. All of that will be explored tonight.

Years back, we noticed that Tapu and Sonu were getting married off when they were children. This happened during a time when Balika Vadhu was ruling on Indian TV. Of course, the two did not actually end up married but the episode caused quite a stir and clearly, it even left Jheel disturbed with just the thought. Even now, neither Sonu nor Tapu have grown up enough to be married off but the elderly in the families are eager to push the children into starting a family. Whether this causes an uproar, remains to be seen.
