British actor Sophia Di Martino has won hearts with her performance as Sylvie in the recently concluded MCU series Loki. For the uninitiated, she is the female variant of Tom Hiddleston's titular character Loki who was arrested by TVA when she was a child. Now during a recent interaction, Sophia spoke at length about playing this unforgettable character which has gone down in the history of MCU.
As per IANS, the actor shared that the most interesting thing for her about the character is how broken Sylvie is. She found it interesting to do characters who are damaged and sort of wear a lot of armour but also get a chance to share their vulnerability. Sophia said that's the fun stuff to play for her.
While describing Sylvie, Sophia further said, "She's also really funny and she gets all the funny lines, which is always fun."
When asked about how she nailed the impressions of Tom as Loki, the actor revealed that she watched all of the Tom stuff including the films. Sophie also said that she sort of tried to forget about it because she didn't want to just do an impression of the iconic character.
The actor added, "That would have been really bad because I am terrible at impressions, so I just wanted to make it my own and a lot of it started with fighting style and one of the first things we did in prep was to start working with the stunt team and work on the fight scenes, so there was a lot to learn."
On Sylvie's fight sequences, Sophia narrated, "She enjoys fighting, she enjoys the adrenaline of it, the rush of it and she gets a kick out of the fight and that told me a lot about her character."
Loki streams on Disney+ Hotstar in India.
