Soubin Shahir’s new-found popularity after Coolie’s Monica: Hold your horses, he’s better in Parudeesa, say his Malayali fans

Ever since the song Monica from Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming Coolie dropped, there’s been a lot of social media chatter about the impressive moves unleashed by Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir who joins Pooja Hedge in the dance number. Soubin literally stole Pooja’s thunder, as audiences showered him with praise for his energy and turbo-charged moves.

Interestingly enough, some of the comments have been about how a “non-dancer” like Soubin managed to steal the show and that’s got the goat of the actor’s Malayali fans. They’ve been responding with clippings of Soubin busting some great moves and moonwalking in the song Parudeesa from Bheeshmaparvam, which some say, is even better than what he’s done in Coolie.

'Dance is not new for Soubin'

Guys, he dances better than this in Parudeesa”, were among some of the comments that came in response to the surprise and awe surrounding Soubin’s dance skills.

Coolie is set for release in theatres on August 14. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has an impressive ensemble cast that also includes the likes of Real Star Upendra, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan and Aamir Khan among others. Netizens have been stating that Manjummel Boys star Soubin got the least amount of attention from the makers as far as publicity goes, but he’s now managed to grab the spotlight with Monica.

The actor is said to have rejected a bunch of Malayalam offers to be able to allocate dates for Coolie. Fans are now hopeful that since Lokesh thought it was a great idea to dance with Pooja, he will also be given a mind-blowing role in the film.
