Soumitrisha’s ‘Mahalaya’ comment irks netizens

After finishing Mithai, Soumitrisha Kundu is now all set to make her film debut opposite Dev in Pradhan. The film will be released in December. But Soumitrisha recently made a comment that displeased her fans. 

Trolling is nothing new to Soumitrisha. She was trolled after getting the break in Pradhan. She heard that she got the chance by simping Dev. She is trolled for her height also. But Soumitrisha knows that trolling comes with success and hence she does not pay attention to them. 

Soumitrisha recently arranged a Q&A on Instagram. She replied to many questions from her fans. But one answer drew people's attention. A fan asked her, “Will we see you at next year’s Mahalaya?” Soumitrisha replied, “No. I never enjoyed performing in Mahalaya. I had to perform in the last two years at their request, truly speaking.” 

This displeased a part of the netizens. Subhasree Ganguly, Koel Mallik, or Rituparna Sengupta eagerly wait to perform in Mahalaya. Hence, her comment was criticised. Some people commented, “Such people should not be called for Mahalaya.” 

One fan asked her, “How do you handle negativity?” She replied, “They are my source of entertainment.” Another one asked, “What is your opinion about the haters?” Soumitrisha answered, “Fans who are afraid to fall in love with me.”

She also subtly promoted Dev's film Bagha Jatin. One fan asked her about her Puja plans. She shared Bagha Jatin’s poster and said 'I will watch it with my family. It will be released on October 19. Please don't miss it.”
