Sourav Chakraborty doesn’t mind pairing up with Madhumita Sarcar

Sourav Chakraborty and Madhumita Sarcar were once the most happening couple in Tollywood. Bojhena Se Bojhena’s ‘Pakhi’ secretly married her boyfriend Sourav in 2015 while Madhumita’s serial was going on in full swing. But the couple had a break up at the end of 2019, which stunned everyone. Sourav is more comfortable behind the camera. He directed various series like Japani Toy, Dhanbad Blues, and Shobdo-Jobdo.

Sourav debuted as an actor on the small screen. He has some hit serials in his bag, including Sobinoy Nibedan, Mem Bou, and Bodhu Kon Alo Laglo Chokhe. Recently he acted in the series Swetkali on Zee5. His rule is, he will not act in a show that he directs. Sourav says that he is not obsessed with acting. He said in an interview, “Directing is my love, and so is acting. However, I do not want to act in a project directed by me.” Sourav is happy to work with his longtime friend Oindrila in Shwetkali. 

Madhumita Sarcar is undoubtedly the best match for Sourav on screen. This pair’s chemistry once mesmerized the audience in the serial Sobinay Nibedan. That happened a decade back, but Sourav still cherishes the memory. 

Will he say yes if given a scope to act with Madhumita? Sourav answered, “I have no problem.” He thinks that their personal equation will not affect their professional lives. “We have been staying apart for a long time. If some director thinks that we will be suitable together for a project, I have no problem.” 

After their separation, Madhumita's name was linked with Sourav Das. However, that is past now. Madhumita clearly stated, “I am single.” When asked about the divorce a few months back, the actress replied, “Maybe our priorities were different, I can not say. I am a romantic person and tried my best to stay back till the relationship was on the brink of breakup. Now I think that I should have come out of this marriage earlier.”
