Rajkummar Rao's recent public appearance has caused a stir on social media, with fans expressing concerns over his noticeably fuller body and changing hairline. Addressing this, in a recent social media post, Rajkummar confirmed that these physical changes are part of his preparation for two upcoming biopics, Nikam and the much-awaited Sourav Ganguly film.
Rajkummar Rao is one of a kind, and he proves his acting talent every time he appears on screen. This is not the first time he has undergone a real-time body transformation for a film. Previously, for Bose Dead Alive, he gained 13 kgs and went half bald. For Trapped, he lost 7 kgs in 18 days.
As recent pictures of Rao created a stir on social media, the actor shared a social media post addressing the concern. He wrote, "My being is through my Art. Just finished shooting for my next Biopic #NIKAM and yes, it has demanded me to change physically which I love doing. I’m not a believer in prosthetic as long as I can achieve the look through my hardwork which I’ve achieved in Nikam be it gaining weight or looking old."
Rajkummar further revealed that during his previous films, people had advised him against going half bald for Bose, gaining so much weight, or in Trapped, not stopping eating and losing a lot of weight.
He also mentioned that while shooting for Srikanth, he had been told not to behave like a visually impaired person off-camera but he did it anyway, which proved his dedication for the work he loves.

"For Nikam I had to gain around 9-10 kgs and I was eating 2 pizzas and lot of sweets and my fav Aloo Parathas, Biryani and to not use anything glam to look like the part. Hopefully when you will see the film which will be releasing soon you will be able to see all that hardwork in the film," he wrote.

Giving an update on Sourav Ganguly biopic, Rao penned, "And now it’s the transition phase and time to lose these extra kgs and get ready to slip into Ganguly mode. Our very own Dada.
Will always work the hardest to engage you, entertain you through my work. Much Love."
In an earlier chat with NDTV, Rajkummar Rao confirmed that he is playing the biopic of the former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly. "Now that Dada (Sourav Ganguly) has already said it, let me also make it official - yes, I am playing him in his biopic," the National Award-winning actor said.
