South Korean horror thriller ‘The 8th Night’ on Netflix, Watch teaser

Netflix has released a new teaser for its upcoming South Korean horror mystery thriller, The 8th Night, with an exorcist as the protagonist. The movie will be directed by debutant Kim Tae-hyung and features and ensemble cast consisting of Lee Sung Min (Incomplete Life), Park Hae Joon (Arthdal Chronicles), Kim Yoo Jung (Love In The Moonlight) and Nam Da Reum (Start-Up).

The 8th Night was originally set for release in 2020 but was reportedly delayed because of the Covid pandemic. The movie will now arrive on Netflix worldwide on July 2, 2021 and will have a runtime of 115 minutes.

Lee Sung Min will be seen portraying the character of Park Jin Soo, the film’s protagonist, an exorcist who is forced to come out of retirement. Park Hae Joon will take on the role of detective Kim Ho Tae who is investigating the violent crimes happening in the city. Kim Yoo Jung has been cast as the mysterious girl who holds a crucial key to solving the mystery, while Nam Da Reum will portray the young monk named Chung Seok.

The plot of the movie is about an exorcist who has to save the human race from a couple of mysterious beings that were locked up for more than 2500 years. The teaser also reveals a part of the plot which suggests an impending unification of the Black and Red demonic entities which have already left many people dead. While the exorcist is unable to stop the demons from waking up, he has eight days to stop them before they unify to become unstoppable and destroy the world.
