Mehreen Pirzada, who made her OTT debut with the Hindi show Sultan of Delhi (on Disney+ Hotstar) this year, had another release in Telugu - Spark. She teamed up with a debutant - a multitalented Vikranth - a writer, producer and an actor for the action drama. Rukshar Dhillon essayed another crucial role in the film that arrived in theatres on November 17 in select theatres globally.
Barely a month after its theatrical release across multiple languages, Spark is now out on OTT. Leading streaming platform Amazon Prime Video acquired its post-theatrical digital rights and premiered the film earlier this week. The film, which had. a modest run in theatres, received mixed responses from critics. Hesham Abdul Wahab, the man behind Hi Nanna and Kushi, scored the music for the film.
The film unfolds through the lens of Lekha (Mehreen Pirzada), who is adamant about marrying the man of his dreams and rejects every alliance that comes her way, much to the disappointment of her parents. Surprisingly, she falls for her neighbour Arya, who however has the hots for another girl in a college. What connects Arya to a series of mysterious deaths in the city? Watch the film to know more.
Guru Somasundaram made his Telugu debut with Spark, that also starred Nasser, Vennela Kishore, Suhasini Maniratnam, Brahmaji, Srikanth Iyyengar, Annapurnamma and Raja Ravindra. A R Ashok Kumar cranked the camera for the film which had story, screenplay by Vikranth. The latter had also co-written the dialogues with Umarji Anuradha, Mahesh and Thottempudi Swamy.
Jaguvar Krishnan choreographed the action sequences for the film while S Ram Prasad was the art director. Moin was the dance choreographer with Prawin Pudi handling editing duties. Leela Reddy produced the film under Deaf Frog Productions. Ananth Sriram was the sole lyricist for the album for which Ravi Kumar Byrisetty was the executive producer.
