There are some specific Hindi series for which fans wait for new seasons every year, and Special Ops is one of them. Special Ops 2 is currently streaming on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium), and the response has been amazing so far. Reviewing the series, fans demanded Special Ops 3. Here's what director Neeraj Panday said.
Special Ops 3 on the cards?
During the Special Ops 2 promotion, director Neeraj Panday told Filmibeat that Special Ops 3 is definitely on the cards. He shared, "JioHotstar has not notified us about the third season, but we hope to take things a notch higher in the new installment, whenever it is made. I hope the audience will love our work, as the entire team has given 100 percent to the project."
When asked if there will be a big gap in the release time between the second and third seasons, the filmmaker said, "It won't be the case."
The report also mentioned, "Criminal Justice season 5 and Special OPS 3 are definitely in the pipeline. The work on the respective projects are expected to commence from next week. This year, the network has shows like Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar 2, Taaza Khabar 3, which will go under pre-production."
Meanwhile, as per the report, if everything goes according to plan, the next season could premiere in the second half of 2026.

Special Ops 2 sees Himmat Singh, played by Kay Kay Menon, return to lead his RAW team against a new threat, which includes cyber warfare, economic sabotage, and the potential disruption of India's digital infrastructure, including the UPI control system. This season is transitioning from traditional terrorism to a modern war scenario driven by technology and artificial intelligence.
The series also casts Karan Tacker, Vinay Pathak, Muzammil Ibrahim, Saiyami Kher, Gautami Kapoor, Meher Vij, Prakash Raj (new addition), Tahir Raj Bhasin (antagonist), Dilip Tahil, Parmeet Sethi, Kali Prasad Mukherjee, Gautami Kapoor, Arif Zakaria, Kamakshi Bhat, Shikha Talsania, and Vikkas Manaktala.
