Mathe Vasantha fame Vivek Simha, who was the second lead in the Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh-led Premier Padmini, makes the transition to lead hero with the upcoming psychological horror thriller Spooky College, the teaser of which was released last evening. Vivek is paired with Dia fame Kushee Ravi in the film and she is quite thrilled that it will soon be in theatres and mark her second onscreen outing. “For well over two years, people have been talking about me as the Dia girl. Now, finally they will have something else to talk about. Spooky College will probably come to theatres in August,” says Kushee excitedly.

Explaining what the film is about, the actress, whose character has two distinct shades, adds, “Spooky College is a story that takes place in a college campus and shooting for it was quite scary. We shot the film at KCD College in Dharwad, which is well over a century old. Since Spooky College is a horror film, much of the shoot used to be at night. The whole campus had an eerie vibe about it and it was quite frightening to even walk down the corridors of the building after sunset. I was quite scared during the long shots when no one was around me.”

In the teaser, Kushee’s character is aware of an otherworldly presence on campus, which is brushed off as her imagination by her friend. But is her mind playing games or is there a paranomal power at play there.

The film also stars Prithvi Rashtrakuta (as the antagonist), Prakash Belawadi, Rakesh Pujari, Hanumanth Gowda, Vijay Chendoor, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Aravind Bolar, Ashwin Hassan, among others. Produced by HK Prakash for Shree Devi Entertainers, Spooky College, written and directed by Bharath G has music by Ajaneesh B Loknath and cinematography by Manohar Joshi.
