The new Radhika Apte film on Zee5, titled Mrs. Undercover, revolves around a supposedly unassuming housewife, who happens to be an undercover spy. Raazi - Prime Video

Widely regarded as one of the best spy thrillers in Bollywood, Raazi, tells the story of a Kashmiri woman who marries a Pakistani army officer in order to spy on Pakistan for India during the heights of the Indo-Pakistan War in 1971. Alia Bhatt stars in the lead as Sehmat Khan, a conflicted woman who is forced to choose between love and duty. Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapoor, and Shishir Sharma essay other prominent roles in this Meghna Gulzar directorial.

Naam Shabana - Netflix

The 2017 Shivam Nair directorial Naam Shabana is a spinoff to the 2015 spy thriller Baby, starring Akshay Kumar. The film follows Taapsee Pannu’s character Shabana Khan and her journey towards becoming a spy. The film features fast-paced action and several edge-of-your-seat moments. Manoj Bajpayee, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Anupam Kher essay other prominent roles, while Akshay Kumar makes a cameo in the film.

Salt - Prime Video

The 2010 spy thriller Salt stars Angelina Jolie in the lead as a CIA agent on the run. Jolie essays the role of Evelyn Salt who has been accused by a defector of being a Russian spy. The film was praised for its grounded fight scenes and minimal use of CGI. Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Andre Braugher essay other prominent roles in the film.

La Femme Nikita - Prime Video
Renowned French filmmaker Luc Besson’s iconic 1990 spy thriller redefined the genre when it was released more than 30 years ago. The film tells the story of a young woman named Nikita, who escapes punishment for her crimes by becoming a top-secret assassin for the government. The film stars Anne Parillaud as the titular Nikita, who garnered praise for her performance in a very demanding role.

Allied - Prime Video

Directed by renowned filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, Allied is a World War II thriller starring Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt in the lead. The plot revolves around a French Resistance fighter named Marianne, played by Cotillard, and her relationship with Max, a Canadian spy played by Brad Pitt, during the Second World War after their chance meeting in Casablanca. Their relationship is put to the test years later when Max is informed that Marianne could be a German spy.

Killing Eve

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Killing Eve has become one of the most popular TV shows of the last decade. The series stars Sandra Oh as Eve Polastri, an agent who is tasked with apprehending a deadly assassin named Villanelle, who is played by Jodie Comer. The series garnered praise for its writing and performances by the lead actors Oh and Comer, with Comer’s character Villanelle becoming a fan-favourite.
